None, neither of us either
Was just saying on the way home it's a good job we haven't bought a ramshackle old farmhouse we're trying to do up :rotfl: (I'd love to, but suspect we'd kill each other, although Mr Daffs reckons it'd cure us
) :rotfl: :rotfl:
Ah well, all friends again now, I've got tea and harry potter audio book and I'm off out to practice my now-expert wall building skills :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
Well, if it's any consolation Me and Mr Me (I like that) are exactly the same. He is so laid back (for that read perfectionist/procrastinator/putter off doing anything) that nothing gets done and I feel overwhelmed so nothing gets done. Wish I could be more like the two of youSome days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Not sure you'd say that if you could see us today cheri! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
:rotfl:
Mr Daffs now outside - using more mortar on a couple of bricks than I used on the entire wall (was I wrong?? I did say I had no idea at the beginning and it's too late now!). Extra layer is on, and now he's adding a decorative layer on the top (on the top of 2 rows of breeze blocks and a row of manky old bricks...). We'll now need MORE mortar - but I ain't going back to Wickes today!
I'm inside with the kettle on, keeping out of the wayAt least we're friends again now! :rotfl:
So once we run out of mortar, I'll return to this morning's business of leveling out the soil.... and I might lock mr daffs in the house so he doesn't notice anything else that needs doing first... :rotfl:0 -
A diy domestic isnt pretty, I know that from experience when we took out a very stubborn fireplace, we were brandishing mells at each other and I ended up throwing a brick at him!
Just as well I missed!!
Lovely that progess is being made though, and well done at avoiding wickes, it saps the soul that place...Trying to shift that debt!0 -
I *am sneaking off for a trip to the garden centre though
by myself
You see, I'll have finished the levelling today, but Mr Daffs is going out at 6, which I'd forgotten, so there'll be no paving laying happening tonight
So I shall have to content myself with straightening up the rest of the garden before we go away - mostly weeding and figuring out when I can get rid of all these green bags the darn council won't take, but I've a few pots by the back door that are really shady and things keep dying - need some nice things that will grow in the shade! :T
(must also remember that I'm meant to be fixing bikes and sorting out presents and parcels today - eek!)0 -
Grr at not finishing but very positive spin put on as always
I also argue with the bf; for us it is putting up our slightly complicated tent that does it!Weight loss: Start weight: 80kg; Current Weight: 77kg; Target weight: 55kg0 -
Good job he's not here now - I'm trying to fix flat tyres on two foldy bikes - and I the process of thinking 'I'll just adjust that bolt...' I've now got THREE wheels that need fixing rather than four... more deep breaths I think!0
-
Well three is better than four!!Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0

Give me time cheri, just you give me time :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I've actually got a friend from another forum doing an ironman today, so I'm hoping I can finish fixing these bikes before she finishes the ironman.... At the current rate she's got about 45 mins left to go... (to put it in perspective, she swam 3.8km in an hour and a half, then cycled 112 miles in about 8 hours, and is now about 5 hours into the marathon....   ) So I've got nowt to complain about really0 -
