Can we persuade you to drift to the left (or is it right?!) a little too perchance Pippi??? :D When are you coming?

Cheery day in store today :T Sun's shining, off to WI in a minute, and then down to little mini free festival to help put a stall up, then lunch, then trip to a friend's :j :j :j How lovely! :T :T

    Have a great day Cheery

I'm sure I can drift to the right a little (from my angle its right - when I get there it will probably be left) not long to you on the train anyway if I remember correctly.

I'll have the whole gang about - the alternative is that you come over to us for a day and have lunch in the garden with Wik and me :) and hoards of kids etc - chaos reigns supreme there - but it would be nice to see the palace too

    Oh decisions!

    Have fun today :)

Decisions indeed! :T But nice decisions :D Not long on the train at all :D

I've been and helped put up the stall, and had a nice chat with the other women there. Gorgeous out there today, if a little windy!

Was meant to be going to a friend's house this afternoon, but she's just rung to cancel as she's got a migrane sadly. So I'm here with the rest of the day free now - what to do??! Contenders are....

    * potter round the charity shops (didn't get a proper chance this morning) with Mr Daffs :D
    * get out in the garden (big project tomorrow still, but might be nice to do a bit of weeding and planting and tidying and repotting)
    * go back down to the festival :D
    * housey things (pah, not going to do this!)

    More decisions! :D

I'm thinking charity shop pottering will win to start with, then a little light gardening, and then when mr Daffs goes out tonight I'll potter round the house a bit. Bought a scrubbing brush this morning so might have a go at cleaning the kitchen carpet, which is so utterly filthy it might be irredeemable, but I'm going to try :D MG I believe scrubbed her entire carpet by hand

(it's not a fitted carpet, it's a large heavy rug, can't get it outside to bang it, and it needs an awful lot more than a bang anyway... :o Not been cleaned for 20 years, and we never take shoes off in the house - good grief, the things you confess to in the privacy of the internet! :rotfl: :rotfl:) :D

Oooh, and meant to say, I was considering popping into town for a new set of bedding today - we've got two relatively new ones, which Mr Daffs loves (one is red, the other turquoise, and both very glamourous and shiny) - but I HATE the way they feel on my feet :o:o Also getting a bit warm for that kind of thing, and I've got a John Lewis voucher left from my birthday...

Anyway, found a fitted plain 100% cotton sheet in a charity shop this morning for £5 :D So I shall wait a little longer :D

    Right then!

Friend cancelled this afternoon, so I've been pottering about with Mr Daffs and knitting instead :D

Now got a few hours to myself so I'm going to:

    * quick whizz round the house (change the sheets, empty bins, wipe mirrors etc)
    * do a hot wash with vinegar to try and get rid of the smell in the washing machine/kitchen :o
    * scrub the kitchen carpet :D
    * write to my friend in Belgium
    * do some of a pilates DVD

I tell you, I know how to live!!! :D :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Rock and roll on a Saturday night indeed :D:D

Best get on with it I suppose!

Well, the house is whizzed round :T :T (including changing the sheets and attaching a cloth to a sweeping brush and cleaning the outside of the skylight ).

Washing machine has been washed - doesn't smell at the minute but we'll see what it's like in the morning...

I've been writing my letter on and off throughout the weekend giving my poor friend updates about the cleaning situation :rotfl: :rotfl:

And I've spent 30 mins scrubbing the kitchen carpet with a scrubbing brush - and done an area about 12 inches by 36 :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

It's now pretty dark, and as our kitchen lighting is more 'atmospheric mood' than 'useful for cleaning' I'm going to stop and do a bit of pilates before settling in with hot chocolate and some knitting :D

Mr Daffs is playing at a wedding tonight, so hoping he'll come back with a small bit of cake :D (its in their contract that they get food as part of the payment, but he doesn't do cake really so I often get his bit :D)

Right - must put the scrubbing brush away before I'm tempted!

    Nice times, Cheery. :)

I could do with taking up some pilates/yoga. I have a yoga DVD at home, but am often not sure if I'm doing the moves right or not. Do you find it the same with pilates? If not, would you recommend doing it at home, or perhaps getting a few lessons in first. And is your DVD any good, and what's it called?

    Questions, questions! :D

Fank q for the answers! ;)

Absolutely no idea Pickle! :D May be best to go to a few yoga classes first to make sure you know what it *should* feel like?

My dvd is called 'more Simply Pilates' by Jennifer Pohlman, comes with a book too - think I must have got it from a charity shop :D It's pretty straightforward, one thing I like is that there's no music behind it, no stupid 'waves crashing on a beach' behind the woman, just her, in a white studio, explaining and showing what to do. No stupid routines, no endless repetition or stupid phrases which twang when you listen to it more than once :D I've done pilates once or twice before, but this is so straightforward I'm happy to trust that she's explaining it well enough for me to do it right - and whatever I'm doing, it feels like a good stretch which is mostly the idea! :D

    Hope that helps!

Cheery, I just posted a reply re the garden on MGs thread. I just want to remind you that the longest day is 21st June then you will have less time in the evenings to sit out. Dont wait 4 weeks to pay somebody to do the garden. Book somebody this week. You're "I am worth it fund" is precisely for things that make you happy and having the garden to the point that you can enjoy it is So Worth It!
