  • Another fab cheery list Daffs! Well done! One thing you've forgotten though - under "For Me" it should say "Be Kind To Myself!" ;)

You beat me to it EH

So there I am, quietly reading through Cheery's lovely multicoloured list... and this appears
Squizz, this means you too for at least one of them!
 :rotfl: .. OK I hereby commit myself to a tootling session in the second half of June! Plus it'd be nice to have a chat about patchworky plans as I have some ideas along that line myself ;)

In the meantime.. be kind to yourself x

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl Squizz :D I wondered if you'd spot that! :rotfl: :D Patchworky chats would be good too! :j :j

Thanks for the reminders to be nice :D Also forgot to put a haircut on the list! :rotfl: After all my great intentions, I haven't had one since the first one! :rotfl:

Bleurgh dedicated, sounds horrid :( I know a few folk with underactive thyroids, and they've all struggled to get the medicine right ). Bizarrely, I felt physically mostly fine before I started taking these tablets - had loads of energy :D :rotfl: (but then was completely worn out after running around so much :rotfl:) These tablets are just masking the symptoms til I go to the hospital, won't be long! <yawn> You're right, it does help to know someone else is suffering too :o

Just up in the attic and about to start work :T It's going to be a GOOD day today! :T

    Hi Cheery,

just a quick one to say how much I am loving your new diary :)

I love the idea of a patchwork life, this definitely appeals to me so am starting to think how/whether this could work for me.

Love the rainbow list with the headings too :)

    Good luck with the tootlings!

    *potters off again :D*

Thanks lionheartedgirl, nice to see you! :) Patchwork life can work for everyone - I reckon even if you work full time (although I'm aiming for not doing!) All about doing lots of different cheery things, not only and always relying on one thing for income etc (although that's what I'm doing at the minute!)

Just had tasty soup for lunch :D Back to work now though...

Great list but you missed something off the ME list "be kind to myself". Well you did ask to be reminded!

I did indeed ask to be reminded - and a few of you were obviously listening! :rotfl:

I've booked a haircut, and rung the doctor (although sadly they were shut, so I'll have to do it again tomorrow...)

    Back to work now though!

Well, I've had a properly productive day today! :T :T Aside from work, I've:

    * rung the doctors (they didn't answer, but I still did it :D :rotfl:)
    * booked a hair cut
    * spent 30 mins clearing out a cupboard (not finished, but lots thrown away! :T)
    * repotted some tomatoes and cucumber
    * er, cleaned off the living room windowsill where the pots had leaked
    * hung the washing up
    * sorted a new load (too late to put on now, so it's by the washer waiting for the morning
    * made and eaten tea (very important :D)
    * printed out some stuff I've been putting off for ages :T
    * lugged a few pavings around in the garden :rotfl:

Speaking of which, I've been getting proper ratty about this garden business :o I REALLY want to sit out there, I have a large hole filled with rubble, no wall with which to hold it in, a pile of breeze blocks waiting to be built into a wall, several ancient and HUGE paving slabs that I can't lift, and ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHAT I'M DOING

    :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

This has been going on for months.

Someone came and helped me dig the pavings out. Someone else came and *lifted* the pavings out. Mr Daffs helped smash some concrete, and then fell backwards into the hole and damaged his arm.

And I'm bored of waiting to sit outside and having my garden look like a building site.

    So....

since I still have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHAT I'M DOING, and since clearly none of my friends do either (or if they do, they're keeping very quiet about it :rotfl:), it just occurred to me as I was out there this evening that I could actually *pay* someone to come and do it for me! Why on earth did that never occur to me?! Possibly because I've never had any money to pay anyone before :rotfl: But now I've got my palace fund, which has £1000 in it, and while it could be spent on any number of things, this one would bring me untold joy :D

(although there would be a certain satisfaction in doing it myself, of course, if I actually *could*...)

Not convinced Mr Daffs will approve, but as he won't be paying for it, and so far hasn't progressed the project huge amounts himself (although he has helped occasionally), I'm not sure that's a convincing enough argument...

Is that so bad?? I'm so rubbish at this that I don't even have any idea of what *type* of person to look for! :rotfl: :rotfl: I can manage 'not a plumber' :rotfl: But would one call a landscape gardener??! A builder?! Any suggestion of costs?? I just want them to build a wall about 2 foot square, fill the hole in, and put the pavings on the top, and maybe build me a little fence. To be honest right now I'd pay a reasonable amount to be able to sit outside before Christmas!

    What do you think?!

(or is my reticence the strange bit - would everyone else just have rung a professional right at the beginning and not spent several months thinking they could do it themselves?!) :rotfl:

There is some sort of online site where you write down the job and apparently quotes flood in! I will endeavour to remember its name!! As seen on TV!
