    HI Sc,

Hope your friend can go with you, moral support and all that.

When you have your weigh in you will see what you have lost since the dr / nurse weighed you.

Sorry you are still ill, maybe a trip back to the dr, to get antibots?

I too was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I was already on tablets for blood pressure, then had to take medication for the diabetes and something for high cholesterol,( It was borderline high so Dr said) The good news is the nurse said the metformin I take can make you lose weight and I lost about 1 1/2 stone. Also did wi fit for exercise. Havent been doing the wi fit for ages, too much family probs to think about it for a while but I am starting again tomorrow. The last two 6 monthly check ups I've had the nurse has said my results for cholesterol, sugar, blood pressure are perfect and I've not had to increase any medication. Just taking lowest dose of each and its maintaining things. I still need to lose more weight but am not obsessing over it. To everyone else going through the same thing, take things a day at a time. Its a wake up call when you are diagnosed with diabetes but dont let it overwhelm you.

Hiya, sorry not been on much. Been a bit unwell whilst trying to empty a relatives flat so basically got home and crashed each night.

I've bought my scales and start at weight watchers next tuesday as got my free vouchers.
My lovely man has been getting me nice lunches and I now own a fridge freezer so can make own soups! YAY.

I'm yawning now as typing this so going to get an early night then will have a good catch up!

Great to hear you are doing well Kaz, That really is fantastic news, really pleased for you.

I've been making soup. One large onion, one pint of water, 2 chicken stock cubes, 1 sweet potato, 2 carrots. Makes 4 helpings of soup. Very filling, nutritious, natural ingredients, couldn't be simpler to make. Or DH's recipe: water and chicken stock cubes as before, 2 leeks, 1 large potato.

This is certainly of interest. But, but, but...if my DH attempted to eat so little in a day - calorie intake so low - he'd be likely to go into hypoglycaemia. It might work in cases of pre-diabetes or only recently diagnosed, but DH was diagnosed 30 years ago and has been on insulin for about 20 of those years.

    Hiya

yes I've been doing great, lost 5lbs in first three weeks so all plans so far.
I go to the gym twice a week or if can't make it then go for a half jog / walk around the local park if not raining.

I've been doing a blog on the weight watchers site
Great to hear you are doing so well too!
