I bought The Dukan Diet book in a discount bookstore as I'd read that it's low carb and IMO it isn't.

BUT been trying the sauces because they are flourless and using full fat yogurt or creme fraiche and they're really good so now I can plonk sauces on meat, fish and chicken :) Well pleased I bought the book. :D

    Hi bossymoo :T xx

Hi all, planning on restarting my stint on Dukan next week. Lost 2 stone before Xmas and have unsuccessfully tried to lose more since but I've fallen by the wayside. Given myself a kick up the bum and starting afresh with attack again. Not tried making porridge with the oatbran - how do I do that? - I've just been making the galletes. I'd love to lose another 2-3 stone......

I'm not keen on the galettes.

The porridge I made in the micro, just keep nuking in 90sec bouts. Does take 4 or 5 goes to soften nicely. I use skim milk. Once cooked, add a bit of cinnamon, sweetener or whatever.

I also make muffins with oatbran, milk powder (or whey), eggs, sweetener and quark.

Hi Edwardia, don't come on here spouting your low carb rubbish haha xxx

    Good afternoon folks.
I started last week, cant really remember which day oops.
I made the decision to go low carband did not have all the info on the Ducan Diet, so I started on Aitkins until I got my head around Ducan.
In 2 weeks I have lost 8 lbs, still have at least 20 to go till I can get back into my clothes.
I stopped smoking 21 months ago and ate anything and everything to get me through it, I am now so over smoking I now have to fix the weight problem.
I made the galettes today, I soaked the oatbran in a little boiling water first which made it swell up to double the size so I managed to make both savoury and sweet from the 1 1/2 tablespoons.
I am still doing the attack phase, until I get to the shops and get some veg in.
I bought both orange and strawberry flavourings, disgusting, so I am using sweetner, nutmeg, ginger etc for tasting my yougurts.
Off to do a bit more reading.
Nice to join you other losers. : )
Love your Mum, you'll never get another one when she's gone.

    Hi
I sometimes sprinkle sugar free jelly crystals over natural yoghurt, flavour and sweetener in one...

I'm joining you because I'm thinking about doing the Dukan diet and thought before I started it (and I really don't want to ;)) it would help me if I read about other people's experiences and tips.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Lol wouldn't it be nice if none of us had to?

I would definitely say get the book. And read it, haha. It does help to understand the principles. And I have to say, when you follow the darned thing it really does work.

    I, however, have been slacking...

OK my first gallette turned into a scrambled mess even in a greased pan. Help!

The gallette is just a means of eating the bran. You can mix the bran with a bit of water or non fat milk, it's there for roughage to ensure dieters insides don't seize up and set like concrete.

Yep, I know the why, but i'd like to make an edible gallette. Do people find it works better with fromage frais than quark, or with/without the egg yolk?

Will try again tommorrow :) I ate it anyway, with a poached egg.
