Hi guys,
I started with Dukan Diet today. I was thinking of joining the "Low Carbs support" thread when realized that there is a seperate Dukan Diet thread. :jI am a vegetarian so this diet is a bit difficult but I did loose a bit with this diet couple of years ago so I know, it does work for me. I did try SW last year but that didn't do any thing for me as I was probably eating too much carbs being a veggie as could only do green days
I have 1.5 stones to loose to reach my ideal weight which I was 8 years ago.
I just wanted to do a quick post to say Hi
Meals that I had today (Need to do a big shop soon to stock up on stuff that I can eat and to have more veriety)
Breakfast: 2 egg omlette (2 egg whites and 1 yolk, with 1 tbsp oat bran)
Lunch: 2 egg omlette (2 egg whites and 1 yolk, with 1 tbsp oat bran and three quorn peppered beef slices)
Dinner: Onion stir fried in soy sauce with 6 quorn meat balls, galette made with quark and one egg white and a bit of oat bran.
Drinks: 1 skinny capuchino, 3 teas with a splash of milk, 1 peppermint tea, 1.5 l of water
I need to reduce oat bran to 2 tbsp from tomorrow and also reduce the eggs that I have been eating.

Hi there n congrats on your 7lbs! :j
I've always had scrambled eggs as both eggs and skimmed milk are part of the diet so that shouldn't be a problem.
I have the oat bran (tes@o's) for my breakfast most days and I have to say I really enjoy it, sometimes I use it to make the gallettes instead. I use vanilla fat free yoghurt for my 'savoury' pancakes and have them with scrambled egg or with strawberry fat free yoghurt and have them like a biscuit in the afternoon.
Hope this helps x0 -
Hi,
I finally took the plunge last week, stocked up on all the foods I would need and Day 1 of Attack was last Sunday. My starting weight was 14st 1and1/2lb and the Dukan website told me my true weight is 10st2lb, which sounds about right to me. My height is 5'5" and I'm female.
Well as of this morning my weight was 13st 6and1/2lbs so 9lbs lost in 6 days!!! I am over the moon with that (in fact I lost 5and3/4lbs in 1 day) and last day of Attack is tomorrow as I decided to do an extra day (8 in total). I am aiming for a double-digit weight loss by the end of Attack.
I haven't felt hungry, and no real cravings, as I've made sure to be organised and I think that's the key so you don't grab something out of the fridge that would undo your hard work. Have to be really organised about lunches to take to work, snacks etc. The food has just been really boring as its so limited just now, but I've just been counting down the days to Cruise and having veggies again!!
One thing I would say is that the gallete which seems to be the normal way of getting your oatbran I've been reading about everywhere i was finding really hard to stomach. I tried varying the level of cinnamon and sweetener but it was yuck. Well I found a recipe for oat bran cookies and with a little more sweetener, yum!! I will not be going back to gallettes and will be making these from now on. They're actually kind of a cross between muffins and cookies. Here's how I make them:
3tbsp oat bran
2-3tbsp fat free yoghurt
2tbsp sweetener
1 tsp baking power
1 egg
Mix everything together well and fill a small muffin/cupcake tray. Bake in the oven at 150 for 15-20mins and then check the tops should be browned. To make them crispy, turn them upside down and pop back in the oven for another 5-10mins. I made 10 so divided these over 2 days to divide my oatbran allowance. Nice cold or warm!
Will be regularly coming back to this post, so let's keep posting and encouraging each other! Well done to everyone on their weight loss so far!!

Im planning on starting the Dukan Diet next week and popped in to Holland and Barrett this morning to look at the Oat Bran. Bit confused as there were bags of fine, medium and course ground bran. Any reccomendations to which is best???
Also any reccomendations for good supermarket buys?? things like are there any frozen beefburgers that are allowed? Worring slightly about how much it may cost!
Thanks0 -
Hi there,
I use Tesco Oatbran http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/Details/?id=260300662
I haven't used any other one so I can't comment on holland and barrett, but I like this one and still have it nearly every day for breakfast 1 year on.
I think most people made their own hamburgers using lean steak mince and maybe adding a little bit of herbs, you just dry fry them as well as there is enough 'juice' that comes out of them.
Do you have the Dukan book? I got it from amazon quite cheap last year and I thought it was helpful and had good little tips.
Hope this helps a little and good luck, it might take a little getting used to but it really does work x0 -
I don't think it matters which oat bran you buy- I usually get the medium cut. However if one of the others were cheaper then that is what I would get!
Never thought to post it, but last week the oat bran and one of the wheat brans were £1 each in Holland & Barrett so I stocked up. Maybe the offer is still on?
Last time I looked in Tesco (quite a while ago I will admit, it was dearer.)
i am getting bored and eating naughty things now!.......don't quite know how to stop the rot, so to speak. Keep away from shops perhaps???
I have managed to keep the 2 stone off- just.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
