    Hi all

I have just decided to start this diet from Monday afetr reading the book for a few days.
I immediately started to worry about getting the right oat bran and an internet seacrh brought up some expensive ones! Then I looked at the supermarkets and found Tesco's own but ended up buying an 800g packet of Mornflake oat bran I found while in Sainsburys for £1.94.
When I put a message on the Dukan diet facebook page, someone replied that this brand was perfectly ok for the diet so at least i know where to get mine from!
I just wanted to add that if you want to ask questions the facebook page is a really good place to start from what I can tell!

    Wish me luck :j

    Anyone doing this?

I no of a few people that have/are doing it & have done really well

I get married 1st Sept & final dress fitting 6th Aug so I want to get as much weight off as possible.

I downloaded the recipe book of the Dukan diet last night onto my iPhone but think I need to buy the book as well because of the recopies I can fold the pages down think it will be a nightmare with it on the iPhone.

I went food shopping today although couldn't get/find oat bran in Asda so need to go to sainsburys. Just sitting down with my lunch now which is a plate full of chicken lol

I think I will struggle but I'm going to do my best take it each day at a time

Anyone else doing it or on the attack phase be nice to have a buddy to talk to about it

    Hi Gemma
I did the 'attack' phase with my teenagers last week. Two of us lost 8 pounds and the other 6. The trick is to be active. I've been walking more and definately think that helped.
We all had the oatbran galette for breakfast with something like a pure beef burger, turkey bacon or just on it's own with a yoghurt to follow. We all seemed to prefer the galette sweet. Also if we were in a hurry we just mixed the oatbran into a yoghurt. I bought some from Sainsburys but haven't tried that yet because I saw it on offer in Holland and Barett so bought two packs from there.
I mostly liked having king prawns and salmon. I cooked the prawns in chopped garlic and chillies and baked the salmon in foil with shallots, garlic and chillies. We also tried chicken breasts cooked with a yoghurt & curry coating.
One last hint: empty your cupboards and fridge of anything that might tempt you! My neighbour was chuffed to get a bag full of goodies!

There is a Dukan diet website for more information, recipes and you can also work out your schedule for the diet but you could be tempted to sign up for the coaching (ok if you can afford it!).

    Good luck!

    Hi Gemma,

Have you got the normal dukan book yet? I say this because I found was really worth while having, it's got recipes in it and breaks down each section and also gives you good tips - I think anyway.

I know that I ate a lot of white meat as well but my loss increased if I ate more red meat, so I went between both of them.

The oatbran is quite an important part of it, although as I've mentioned on here before I prefer it as porridge than pancakes (I liked those as well) and still have it nearly every morning for just over a year now.

Good luck and let us know how you get on x

5 days in & 7lbs down I'm going to do it until Monday then go on the cruise stage

That's a great result :j I started the attack phase on Sunday, today it's day 3 and I've already lost 6lbs! I was going to stay on the attack phase for 10 days but I read on the dukan site the following:

The Attack Phase is often incorrectly used by many followers of the Dukan Diet and it should never last more than 10 days. Many dieters think that by staying on this Phase for longer than recommended that they will lose weight more quickly.

Less than 10 pounds to lose – a one day Attack Phase.
    • Between 10 and 20 pounds to lose – a three day Attack Phase.
    • Between 20 and 40 pounds to lose – a five day Attack Phase,
    • Over 40 pounds to lose – a seven day Attack Phase is the norm. A 10 day Attack Phase is only exceptionally used after medical advice has been taken.
Does anyone have any experience with this? I don't want to stay on the attack phase any longer than I need to (it's awful haha!) and I'd hate for metabolism to slow down if I stay on it too long. Any advice from those who have tried it? I'm 5'7" and my starting weight was 12st9lbs:eek: If I can get down to 10st I'd be more than happy although according to the dukan site my true weight is 9st9lbs.

    Hi

Can I join? Didn't realise there is a Dukan thread here... I started Dukan last April, and did really well. Lost 35lb.

Life happened, or rather didn't, but things got in the way and I stopped, and other than gaining a bit over Xmas, I maintained. Basically (you might as well know, if we're going to be diet buddies) my husband got a very aggressive form of brain tumour, and we lost him in November. He was just 35, our son wasn't quite 3 and our daughter just 14 months. Anyway, I won't depress you with all that...

Since January, I've tried to get on the straight and narrow, and am a stone down, so at 41lb altogether given my gain at Xmas. My problem is I get very bored, and keep switching between Dukan and Atkins, which really doesn't help.

I know Dukan works for me, I need to lose about the same again, and am determined. So here I am. Having a PP day today. Made some ob savoury muffin type things to spread some quark on the other day, so that will be my mid aft snack.

    I also don't drink enough...

    So, that's me saying hi
    (I'm not really bossy)

    hi there may i join?

started dukan 3 weeks ago with 7 days on attack phase. mainstay on that was chicken fillets done on george forman grill, eggs and tinned tuna. oatbran was from tesco and i make it into a porridge. everyday value pack of dried skimmed milk (tesco) useful for coffee, scrambled eggs and porridge.
found the regime easy to stick with and no hunger. weight loss is 14lbs and aiming for another 28lbs off.
Teamwork means.......never having to take all the blame yourself ;)
