  • Hi All

    Just a few pointers about Dukan Diet, I noticed that some of you are eating Oken yogurts, unless these are the 0% natuaral yogurt DONT eat any of the flavoured ones as you will not lose weight, dont eat muller light either they are too big and contain too may carbs per pot. The yogurts that you need to eat other than natural yogurt are weight watchers vanilla and toffee or the pineapple and mango ones. You also need to stick to two a day if possible especially when on cruise.

    Use your oatbran to make a galette it is so much nicer than the porridge.

    Galette recipe;

    1 egg
    1.5, 2 or 3 tbsp oat bran depending where you are in diet
    1.5, 2 or 3 tbsp Quark depending where you are in diet
    Pinch of salt
    spray oil

    Method;

    Beat all ingredients together
    Spray pan with oil and wipe off with kitchen paper and set over a high heat, once hot turn down heat slightly and add the mixture for 2 mins flip over and turn the heat down for a further 2 mins and allow to cool.

    Tastes great with ham I have this for my breakfast every day

    If you want a treat put a teaspoon of low fat coco powder for baking from the Tesco value range into the mix and replace the salt with two tablespoons of sweetner and a drop of sugar free vanilla extract and cook in the same way. Dont eat ham with this one..........

    This is the best way I have found to consume my oatbran. I have also noticed the increase in Tesco oatbran price....SHAME ON YOU TESCO if we are consuming more it should be costing you less!!!!!:mad:

    ?

    I have eaten Onken and Muller Lite yoghurts and lost just over a stone in just over 3 weeks.

    Also if you cook the galettes in a pre heated pan they will break easily, it is much simpler to add the mixture to a cold, decent non stick pan without oil and cook them that way.

    A stone and a half gone now.....

    As the guide states, the rate of loss has slowed down but it still around 2 to 3 pounds a week....

    I have tried a decent non stick cold pan and it was a disaster.

    The trick I have found and I have NEVER had a failure with it is..........

    Heat your ring on full ie number 6 if electric, let get hot for a minute or so then pour in gallette batter.

    Immediately turn down to number 1 and set a timer for 10 minutes.

    Once batter is poured in do not touch it at all.

    Once 10 mins is up, turn over the gallette and leave in pan for 2 minutes.

    I tried different ways when I started making them and they were all disasters.

    Give it a try this way, you may be surprised.

    ;)
  • Well my goal is in sight - just another 1.5lbs to go and I hope this is by Saturday or Sunday. Then I have to do the Consolidation thing - awkward with Christmas ahead. Still I will try to be good until I go on holiday on 23rd December then I am just going to enjoy myself. When I get back I am having another Attack Phase maybe 4 or 5 days and then into my 105 days Consolidation Phase so it will be April 2012 when I am through with this. However I will always weigh myself every week and where necessary will have 2 x Protein days a week if things look as if they are getting out of hand!
    I hope everyone else here is sticking with it - getting into all my clothes again has been a joy and I am treating myself to a couple of very slinky dresses for Christmas - bound to be plenty of money-saving 70% off sales during the Christmas week :-)
    Good luck to you all!

    I'm now being told that my Consolidation phase is coming to an end and that I need to pay more money for the next phase.

    The good thing is, I'm now size 14 and weigh just below 10 1/2 stone. I haven't been that since the early 1980s. I never did get to my 'true weight' of 60 kg, I'm 66.5 kg now. But I haven't given up.

    Best wishes to everybody! We are all different and we have to find something that works for us individually.

    It sounds as if you know enough about the way of eating now to manage on your own. Those last few kilos will probably come off if you stick at it.

    Congratulations at being a size 14 - you must be very pleased.

    Well done MargaretClare, that's really great news with the weight loss and with your hubbies insulin going down that can only be a good thing!

    You sound so positive and happy, hopefully it might help others who are needing some encouragement to lose a little weight. I have been 'finished' with the diet some around 6 months now and have kept the weight off, I must say I really look forward to the pure protein day every week so that if I have overdone it a little, the weight drops back off - just magic! :T

    Good luck to you both for the future x
