As for my £10 lost on that eBay transaction. It was my ten quid, so no-one else is poor as a result. Now if you can tell me how I can get it back economically without risking arrest for harrassment then you are a better man than I GD.

Most men are better men than you, Peter - certainly at "getting things done"

Edit: Pleased to report just received a very upbeat delivery notification call from Argos. Philips Wii will be delivered IN time (if not ON time) afterall. Andrew made it happen. Good man.

Perhaps the Wii will get delivered? Fingers crossed then! I like the element of chance involved, also that you're telling everyone that Andrew's a good man. Have you told him specifically about this site? I can't imagine he'll see your praise otherwise.

Either way, I think this thread's run it's course now. There's little enjoyment to be had. :(

I lift my glass to you MSE users and think back to the good times, maybe we'll meet again. Actually I'll probably post in this thread in about five minutes when Peter posts "ha! The principled man has won in the end!" or something similar.

Send my best to Phillip. And please, please, please place an order for an item guaranteed to sell out about a week before it's release date soon. All the best.

All said and done ...has anyone back here on planet earth been contacted by Argos concerning the 2nd batch of deliveries? Is it def. wednesday for the 2nd batch? ...just starting to get edgy again now......

I telephoned Argo today. He checked my postcode and told me mine would be with me by next Wednesday or Friday at the latest.
Must admit not impressed with their cs skills. When I told him someone from Argos had telephoned last week saying "please telephone Argos re your recent order" with no telephone number etc he practically called me a liar, saying "well everyone else has received an automated call" and "that would not have happened etc" in an unbelieving tone of voice.
If I could have been arsed I would have complained but I had lost the will to live after speaking to him.

Assuming I am part of the second batch, then yes daymo. The call I got today was very upbeat, gave me a definite date (Wednesday), a delivery time-range of six hours, and the name of the courier company.

No haven't told him about the site, but I am sure someone will have done by now. He does however understand that he is a nice bloke and that his special efforts are appreciated (because I've told him two or three times already). He is different and he made a difference. Thank goodness for people who are different, I say:D

    Sorry, I can't stop myself.

    YOU ARE MENTAL.

He's done NOTHING for you since you are getting the next available console, one from another shipment, exactly what Argos said would happen when you started whining about this in the first place. All of your !!!!!ing and moaning and talk of crying and contract busting has done nothing.

This is not a victory at all, all you've done is irritate some Argos staff and amuse some people on a forum. Argos' name is unaffected, you're getting exactly the service they said they'd give you when you were told you wouldn't get one at launch. You've let us down, let Phillip down and most of all you've let yourself down. And made yourself look like an idiot.

    YOU HAVE ACHIEVED NOTHING.

    Good day.
