andrewk wrote:The sad thing is that pretty much everyone on the thread has been distracted into arguing with peterbaker rather than noticing that Argos:
- messed up by accepting more preorders than they could fulfil
- blamed Nintendo for not providing enough when it was their fault for taking too many orders
- handled the situation appallingly after that, not taking the time to reassure customers
If Argos had half a clue what was going on, they'd have called everyone who wasn't getting one on launch day and said "I'm terribly sorry Mr Baker, due to an error on our part we've taken too many pre-orders and consequently we will have to delay the most recent orders by one week. As a courtesy to all customers who won't be getting their Wii on launch day, we can offer you a refund of the delivery charge."
If they had done that, I bet this thread wouldn't even be here.
But what do people expect . There are loads of people who want one to give their little "darling" on Xmas morn , and they dont want to disappoint them and have some other brat in school to have one , while their child is unfulfilled ? There are also people who have read the hype and know its going to sell out (quite probably) , and they take a risk by preodering one to stick on eBay for a tasty profit .
Its only a freaking console , deal with it , lifes too short .0 -
Hi
Any update?0 -
I tried reading this thread, but not only did it make my head hurt but I'm beginning to wonder if anyone on this entire site is sane!
Shall come back for further amusement another time!0 -
I read this thread and just kept thinking what a stuck up numpty the OP is - will complain about anything and if theres nothing to complain about he complains about having nothing to complain about!0

As a participator in the original deleted thread it's quite amusing to witness this pile of nonsense getting dragged up again.
If I recall:
-OP ordered a wii.
-Nintendo undersupplied UK meaning that some relation of OP wouldn't get a console on launch.
- For some inexplicable reason, OP blames Argos for this, and rather disgustingly tries to emotionally blackmail Argos CS rep to deliver a wii on the basis that relation of OP has some kind of learning disorder.
-Lots of people critical of this on MSE.
-OP then tries to twist his position from utter selfishness and manipulation into being some kind of consumer rights champion, claiming that a few thousand posts on a forum is massive exposure, when in actual fact the only people viewing are about 5 people repeatedly posting that he is a unethical slimeball.
-Thread gets deleted, and rightly so.
-Thread is resurected, OP still doesn't realise that nobody cares and we are all laughing at him.0 -
Sorry, just skipped through this. Can I just ask, if you know someone who is radio rental DO you get things quicker from Argos????You can't go wrong with carpet bombing...0
