Ann summers, anyone else had problems with party organisers?

Gillybabes wrote:Hi Looby, I did Ann summers partys for 11 years and no matter what went astray at a party you can't go around accusing people of theft unless you are 100% sure they stole the item. You can't keep guests money to replace lost stock that is theft. You are entitled to your bra and a free gift for the stress this has caused you. I would also write a letter to Jaquline Gold as she runs the company and would be very upset to see what this is doing to the company. All in all it was fun doing the partys and even better with the guests who made me have some superb nights and so many friends that l made who kept me in business for that 11 years.
I didn't take that bra, even if I had been at all tempted (not that I would have been, I'm not that kind of person!) it would have been of no use to me at all. Nor would it have been of any use to my friend or her mum, who's order form I placed my order on. All I did was pick the bra up, look at it, chat to my friends about it then write the details down and pay for it.
thanks for the suggestionwhere can I find Jacqueline Gold's email address? All I can find is the cc email

Ooh this sounds a little familiar! (minus the theft accusations!) I had a run-in with an Ann Summers party organiser about 18months ago when I hosted a party. She was quite blatantly ticked off on the night itself as out of almost 20 guests, only me and another girl actually purchased anything (although to be honest, she had only her awful chavvy selling skills to blame for that).
Anyway she disappeared without even saying bye - looked around and she'd gone! Assumed she'd deliver the order in a timely fashion...
...3 weeks came and went. I tried calling her multiple times but she never answered... I left numerous messages. A month later she rang me back telling me there'd been a death in her family and she'd been at/preparing for the funeral. I had to take her at her word, and she did promise to deliver the order in about 3 days time... which you guessed it, came and went.
After a hundred more phone calls and promised deliveries that never were, she finally dropped off the order. Quite literally, dropped off the order. My house is right on the street (no front garden/yard) and she just left the AnnSummers emblazoned box right in the middle of the pavement.
Anyway when I open the box, whadya know - the bunnygirl set the other girl ordered is missing. I couldn't face ringing the P.organiser (ever) again. No point, as she'd just have fobbed me off again (and again) so I wrote a very detailed letter (much like this post!) and sent it to 'Customer Care' at the address on the order form (which may or may not have been head office).
AnnSummers wrote back to me v. quickly saying they were trying to contact my party organiser to resolve the issue, but that if they didn't hear from her within a week, they would themselves send me the missing item... a week later and it arrived (from head office NOT from party org. who obviously didnt even reply to her 'own' company). They also sent me the current months hostess gift, I guess by way of an apology.
So it all worked out ok for me (I will never have another AS party though!!) I'd really recommend you write a letter (paper later) to the address on your order form, as the guy replying to emails is quite obviously a numpty. I also think there's something a bit more serious about a tangible letter.
Best of luck anyway!Wins for 2009: Nada, Zip, Zilch0 -
I don't suppose you have a copy of the postal address do you.
If not I'll look for it on the AS site tomorrow. Thanks for posting your experience though. I just hope I have such a happy ending!0 -
well it's been 2 weeks now since last contact from AS, the rep has made no attempt to get in touch at all, I've written and sent a letter but no answer yet, which I suppose is to be expected because it's Christmas.
Really not impressed though0 -

that's exactly my point! Just because I was the only person to order the style of bra the same as the one that went missing that makes me guilty  I wouldn't mind so much if the bra I ordered was the same size as the one that went missing at least then I could kind of understand the party organisers suspicions but there is NO way the missing bra would be any good to me. (and believe me it's obvious I couldn't fit into a b cup if I tried!! lol)
Thank youI have a feeling they will just ignore it though
someone else I was talking to about this suggested the same thing, she said if it were her it wouldn't be about the £20 for the bra at this point it would me more about the insinuation that she was a thief. I'm really really p!ssed off with Ann summers at the moment and I want this sorted out and an apology would be nice too. I'm just not sure how seriously any solicitor would take my case....or even if I have one. So far the slander has been contained within a private conversation between AS and one of their party organisers.

Can you tell me how you select bits from different posters messages to quote? As if I click quote, all I get is that persons complete quote, I know how to chop a bit off it, but can't chop it into bits.
Can you also tell me how you get the little icons/smilies in you text? As whenever I've clicked on one, it just posts by the title.
Also (I'm on a roll now) I have seen quoted text with bits highlighted in bold, how do you do that?
I realise I have asked loads of questions here & you may not have time to answer, if you could post a link to where I might find this info, I would also be grateful.
Many thanks

to get the different parts of different people posts you need to put quote=posters name enclosed in [ . ] square brackets, then past the part of the post, and then put /quote at the end, again enclosed in square brackets.
so for eg to quote you I would type
quote=kimevans then paste part of your text,
/quote
keep doing that as many times as you need, changing the posters name in the quote= part to the appropriate name.
Smilies, click on the advanced button at the bottom of the post box and to the right hand side of the screen you should see a whole box full of smilies, simply click on the one you want and it will be added.
making text bold. again that can be done using the advance button, when you go advanced there are a whole extra row of features, very similar to those in any word processing package. to make part of your post bold you simply highlight the part you want then press the large B button at the top of the post box. OR you can do it manually by typing a B, enclosed in square brackets at the start of the words you want to make bold and then /b (in square brackets at the end of the part you want to make bold.

I puzzled over this for months. Go to User CP - Edit Options - scroll right to the bottom and there is a box for changing how you do messages. I changed mine to the WYSIWYG setting and now have all the options available, including putting smilies where I want them.0
