That why I said usually. Its rare for a consultant to not grant permission even if they don't think the lady in question doing it for the right reason, the fact that a termination has been asked for speaks volumes.
I was refused a termination at the grand old age of 17, because the ex turned up and started shouting and upset me at the clinic.
I love my eldest child dearly, but that refusal put me through years of an abusive relationship which took my youth away and shattered my self confidence.
I have since had a termination, some years ago now and it's taken a lot of getting over. I am unexpectedly PG again at the moment and will go ahead if all is well because I am not sure I could go through the emotional termoil again. With added guilt because I know that my older 3, especially the eldest, would like another sibling. She got quite cross when I gave some baby things away because she said they should be for her new baby brother (and she doesn't even know yet)
PP I find it absolute madness that the doctor refused you a termination, especially after how ill Squeak made you last year. If I'd had those problems and gone to my GP pregnant again she'd have been the first to suggest that the risk to my health from pregnancy wasn't worth it.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

not about bein perfect its about expressing my opinion and just because more people on the forum are pro choice than life it doesnt mean im not entitled to speak.0 -
As an aside to everything, and certainly taking this OT, Ive often wondered why abortion isnt spoken of much more freely than it is. Apparently 1 in 4 women have had one, and yet its still hushed up as a 'dirty little secret' almost. maybe if more women actually came out and said 'You know what, I had one' then it wouldnt be as taboo as it is. It also may stop terribly judgmental people from trying to have the monopoly on the subject. You lied to me Edward. There IS a Swansea. And other places.....

There's pro life, pro choice and just plain deluded.
The OP isn't a habitual terminator, neither did she plan on falling pregnant, she isn't a stupid teenager nor lax with the contraception.
Why are you not seeing this, the OP isn't wanting to become a mother again.
Who are you to tell her she has to? Committing the next 20 or so years of her life to a child that she knows she doesn't have the financial stability to provide for. Money doesn't get thrown at people who work for having babies!0 -

I understand that. But maybe the way to 'reclaim' it, and to be able to have reasonable discussion about it, is to actually 'speak freely' about it in the first place. If that makes any sense? You lied to me Edward. There IS a Swansea. And other places.....
