so far i have requested records of all default charges using the template letters.
Royal bank of scotland have ignored completely
barclays have sent a letter stating they are struggling with the high numbers of people requesting and can't say when i will recieve them.
Morgan Stanley have only sent half my records
i have reported these to the information comissioner attaching my letters sent to the banks, and have also called the banks 3 days before the 40 days was up!!
it's now 2 weeks after the 40 days pasted and still nothing!! what do i do?!?
i have already been paid out from one bank, and had offers from another. so don't want these banks holding out untill they find a way of not having to pay up!!!
Thanks0 -
It's now been 45 days since I requested my statements from HSBC. I called them and they told me that it may take longer than 40 days as I was asking for a lot of information that they would have to gather.
Now, I work for an IT company and I know that a big bank like HSBC wont keep my statements in filing cabinets, and that they will have a state of the art data management system which would take 30 seconds to print my statements.
So what should I do???0 -
If any of you have Microsoft Project or similar project software on your machine, I have found it helpful to enter the date I have sent the letters as the first date of the 'task', then setting the end date of that particular task as 40 days later. This is using the DPA request as an example
The best bit is that you just enter 40 days as the duration of the task, (you can also set it to 40 working days or 40 calendar days. I have then set my desktop calendar to ring an alarm when a particular timeframe is almost upon me, or the last day of the x days is up.
Given that I am so disorganised, keep every bit of paper but can never find it again, this programme is a godsend. I also scan everything and keep it in a folder I have called MSE, with various subfolders. That way, if I can't find the original of anything, I always have a saved copy sitting on my PC, exactly where I know I can find it.
I hope this is vaguely useful to some of you. If not, please ignore the ramblings of a madwoman.;)Gettting there!

Report them to the Information Commisoner, they are clearly in breach of the DPA.

where does this information commissioner hang out. I obviously need to contact him.
Also - my lloyds charges only ammount to £130 (plus interest). Can anyone tell me how much it costs to claim through small claims because it's not gonna be really worth it if it's quite a bit just to claim this (or part of it) back.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hi,
I wrote to my bank requesting my statements and I havent yet heard back from them.
This was quite a few weeks ago, in the past when I have requested statements they have arrived within a few days. how long on average does it usually take to receive them?
I wrote to my own branch, have I made a mistake doing this? After looking around the forums I see there is an address for Barclays that I should've written to?
Many Thanks in advance!0
