sotonsue I have been where you are now. 16 years in an abusive relationship, teenagers and no food no money and everyone else seeming to be doing alright and not understanding. I am now on the otherside of this and am even building up a few savings incase things ever go pear-shaped again. I never,in a million years thought I would get out of the mess and be where I am today. But here I am,having done it,and the sense of achievement is great,as is the ability to appreciate being able to put food on the table and buy a new item of much needed clothing ,much reduced in a sale.
So, dont give up,please, and keep posting ,do take a look on the OS threads, theres tons of valuable information. Keep strong xxxxxx0 -

Hi SueI have a little garden and its just paving stones and weeds...and if you stand at the back of the garden in the corner at about 2.30 you get some sun
i was thinking if i had the money i would like to put some pots out there and plant some flowers and grow something and if its in pots i can always take with me if i do move JUST GOT NO MONEY FOR BLOODY POTS !!
I'd love to feel good again
Just catching up with your thread and it's lovely to see so many on here with help and kind words to offer.
Re: the pots...
Put a wanted ad on freecycle. I needed to plant lots of veg and salad this year and couldn't afford the pots or compost and so I placed wanted ads on freecycle and got both for free. Now have lots of lovely food growing in my very small garden!
Freecycle can be brilliant if there is one in your area for decluttering and finding things you need.
I feel for you and know that you will get through it all. I have been through some similar bad stuff and depression and have recently been trying to get on top of things with the help of this site and to do lists. I also had to kick my stepson out recently for similar reasons mainly because his Dad has mental health problems and he was making him worse and taking me down as well and I have 3 kids of my own. He was dumped on us by his mother when we hadn't even seen him for 4 years last October, so we didn't really even know him. Now he is being helped by the Social Services and is in a youth hostel near his mother. I had to do it to help us all! We tried to help him but he just threw it all back in our faces. I put up with it for 5 months and it was hell! Sometimes you have got to be cruel to be kind!
Also we were struggling financially and my kids have been out doing paper rounds and washing up jobs (and they are still at school)to earn their own pocket money and he was doing nothing and stealing their hard earnings from them!
He was certainly very cruel to us and knowing how ill his father was and that he was a recovering alcoholic and not caring that he was driving him back to drink when he had liver problems....his Dad was very upset but it had to be done for everyones sake....my children as well - he was dragging us all down. My husband is still very down about having to send him away but the stress levels and the cost of living have reduced enormously!
Good luck Sue with everything. I want to do Car Boots but my Hubby suffers from Agoraphobia and I ahve a pin in my arm and can't carry stuff so unless I find someone else to help me I can't really do it. Must talk one of the kids into it actually.

Sue there is help out there but you have to be prepared to let people in. Coming on here is a start but please approach some charities for financial help. Even if they can not help they usually know an organisation that can.0

He actually stayed in last night, spent the night on facebook...had a few comments about the lack of food in the house and he's "sick of pasta !!" but he knows the situation i'm in so he'll just have to suffer for awhile...its a great feeling isn't it when u cant afford to feed your kids properly ...what a mess !!
You are doing your best Sue, and as he hasn't got Beri-Beri or rickets I think you must be doing okay. I think we all get comments and they're best ignored if they're not helpful - my lodger was telling me last week that a woman's place is in the kitchen. It was a rare variation on the 'I'm paying your mortgage' comment, which is at least true

He's just trying to wind me up Beanie. I suggested I stayed in the kitchen and we'd see how soon it was before the house is repossessed and we were both out on the street.
I know how to shut him up!
