    Fab post LL.

I find that Youtube is my friend when it comes to motivation. Sometimes I search for Tony Robbins videos there. Or TED talks, although they are becoming less inspiring to me than I have found them to be previously.

BTW In one of his talks Tony Robbins said something along the lines of getting motivation through movement, which can be be as basic as quickly shaking both hands in the air by your side, if that makes sense.

Thanks, I will check those out when I get the chance.

Definitely agree with the healthy eating......eat junk and feel like junk.
The other of course is sleep.

Last night I slept for 7.5 hours straight and this mirnjng I feel fantastic......raring to go. Bright sunshine here so that's another plus. The sun gives me energy.

Off to dads In a minute. He's currently in sheltered accommodation.

Apparently ine if the cleaners has just been done for fraud, caught trying to apply for credit cards using some of the residents details. I don't yet know if dad has been targeted but I'll get o er there today.

Thankfully although he is getting more forgetful he is still fully compus mentis and although I do much of his financial stuff he is still keeping a tight rein on his finances so we should be able to spot anything untoward.

Fortunately he will be moving in with my sister soon. Things will be easier all round.

Arent some people just the scum of the earth, targeting people in the 80s and 90s. . The sad thing is the residents all loved her because appeared so friendly and helpful. She deliberately won their trust and affection and then tried to fleece them.

Anyway I'll get over there and see what we need to do.

https://www.eventualmillionaire.com has some interesting video millionaire case studies - they are quite long though.

So my tenant phoned up on Monday night to inform me that some fence panels and the gate had blown down in the wind. I am going to repair one side but had to wait for the landlord's letting agent to go round and have a look at the other side so they can determine whose responsibility it is for that side of the fence. In the past they have repaired it but I am arming myself for a dispute over it this time. I guess it is just the joys of being a landlord. There are a few other bits that I need to go and sort out once the current tenants move out, hopefully they won't cost all that much and I can get some new people in there fairly quickly.

  • Managed to dodge the rain and dropped some more stuff off to my eBay lady, including some of the things that the Chazzer refused......she reckons they will sell easily.

Just goes to show - theres always a market for quality stuff. ;)

Need to do a financial shuffle round later. Gotta squeeze every last penny interest where I can......

Chucking down now, so that's me for the day, cosy down, cook a nice dinner, potter about.

I'm reading a biography of Steve Jobs at the moment.

Muhren - How to stay motivated......heres a few things I find useful.

I ve never really had a problem with motivation as such, I've always been a self starter but of course I get tired and fed up sometimes. Everyone does, it's normal.

When it happens I take a step back. I take the opportunity to review what I'm doing, ask myself how I can improve, what do I need to do differently etc.

When I worked in sales complexes on new build developments I always decorated my office like it was my home office. Flowers, plants, a nice paperweight and always a couple of photos of my kids.

So......whenever I had to do some cold calling or chasing up leads and was feeling less than enthusiastic I would just look at the photos and say "boys this ones for you".

So make sure your office or workspace is a nice place to,be. Clean tidy desk, everything organised. As a male you might not want flowers but a nice paperweight or plant would look good. Peace lilies and spider plants placed near to a computer monitor Will improve air quality and help you stay alert. Please no fluffy toys, jokey signs or stickers. You are a grown up, not a student.....

I would always ensure that I "walked the site" every day, partly to check build progress but also to touch base with contractors and subbies, have a chat to the labourers who were always my eyes and ears. Just getting away from my desk and out into the fresh air was usually enough to refresh me and lift my spirits and of course it helped me keep my finger on the pulse and kept me inspired.

Can you do something similar - I cannot overestimate the importance of "staying in the loop", finding out what's going on around you, networking, making good contacts. It keeps up the enthusiasm and energy levels.

If you can always try and have a few minutes break here and there, even if it's just a "water cooler moment". And don't eat your lunch "al Desko".

Perhpaps you could use visualisation techniques......imagining yourself a few years down the line, doing the things that your hard work has paid for.....a holiday, a nice car, whatever. My DS2 keeps a picture of his dream boat as his computer wall paper. So perhaps a picture of something you really want.

I appreciate its often easier to get and stay motivated when you are self employed but some employers can be very supportive and actively encourage and motivate staff to do well, others less so. Let's hope your new employers are the good guys.

If you google motivational sayings or inspirational quotes there are loads, plus some great Inspirational movie clips. Don't forget music.

Start the day with some "banging tunes" to get the adrenaline pumping ......move around, do some exercise to get those endorphins flowing, sing in the shower.

And don't forget to reward yourself now and again. Treats needn't be expensive, they can be free. Allow yourself time out to have some fun. Try and aim for a good work life balance.

All work and no play makes Jack a very dull boy. Working hard all the time can lead to burn out.

Celebrate your successes and learn from your mistakes, but always remember to be joyful.

Monitor your progress to how far you've come, reassess every so often, maybe a few tweaks here and there to keep you on track.

Always keep your eye on the prize. And finally......

Never, never, never give up. If you falter, stumble and fall just pick yourself up and try again ........however many times it takes.

    excellent, great post:T:T

  • Any writers amongst you, inc. bloggers? I'm looking for some tips / advice.

I have ideas for several blogs and books too, (a couple of them being blog spins offs). I was wondering how others might approach it. Would you suggest working on just one, or two or three at a time? Short bursts (up to say two hours) or blocks of several hours? Consecutive days or a break in between?

I know everyone is different, but I thought hearing from people with experience might be helpful. Also, any course / book recommendations on writing would be appreciated.

    Thanks :)
  • Hi,
Am not sure about the millionaire bit but I myself am trying to get debt free (7.5k down from 14k) and have branched out into blogging and am trying to make a living from blogging, promoting products on my site (digitalnomad dot site) creating videos and creative writing, I know it sounds like a lot and to be honest it is but I am still plugging away and when the big money starts rolling in I will be able to keep this going nicely.
I also am looking to be location free as well so I can work anywhere in the world, I need good healthcare though as I have a disc injury in my back and am 48 so not as young or fit as I would like to be :-)
