After a full day of trying to contact this company and having no success I'm even more puzzled as to where to go from here.

I've been in contact with various consumer advice services who don't seem to be able to help. Would the police be able to assist me?

It seems to me that after they identify that someone will invest in these coins (as they are brain washed into there supposed exclusivity and value) the prices go from 0-50 pet set to several hundreds, which is ludicrous.

My uncle made a payment of 400 via a postal order which they said they didn't receive, he had misplaced the receipt and couldn't find it resulting in a influx of threatening letters and calls from solicitors scaring my uncle into sending the 400 again.

I'm wondering if there could be any way of proving they took two payments of 400 from my uncle. I planned to ask them for a complete log of what had been sent and the payments they had received since this started, the longer i spend looking into this the more i believe they would never give out that type of information.
  • Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone has actually stood up to them, and their solicitors, debt collectors etc, and said forget it I'm not paying, take me to court if you want to. I'd love to know what stance they took and if they bothered to progress further.

If we start to learn together that they just threat and never follow up on it maybe more people will stand up to them, and far less people will feel that they "have" to pay...

    Thanks
    Gerald
  • Their Web site includes their VAT number, company number, and registered office address, with reference to the requirements of the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002, and Regulations 6 and 7 of the Companies (Trading Disclosures) Regulations 2008, made under Sections 82 to 85 of the Companies Act 2006.

But I can't find any reference to the actual name of the company, which - as is required by the Companies Act 2006 - is "The London Mint Office Limited". The company name has to appear at least once on the site, notwithstanding that they are using "The London Mint Office" as their trading style. I've queried this and await their response.

Please can someone update on what happened to all these cases
    as the trail suddenly stops

the London Mint Company is still open and running this scam while others are still being duped
and would be extremely useful if people could say what happened after the Solicitors letters
  • Thankfully they gave up chasing. My "debt" was around 40 quid and they finally stopped chasing. Screw those guys.
