    Hi anguk,

Thanks for the tip. Obviously you are not going to stay in one spot for a long time but nonetheless I fear the steam may damage the laminate layers. I'm sorry this may sounds like a dumb question but I've never used steamer so I'm clueless.

This may be a "how long a piece of string" question but how often should I steam clean the floor? I'm a single person with no pets so it's unlikely that the floor gets dirty quickly but I think I ought to do a through cleaning from time to time.

I find a flat microfibre mop does the job very well on my laminates :-)

I just use the same eco-friendly unscented washing-up liquid I use for the dishes. If it cleans grease and dirt and doesn't have anything harmful in then it ticks all the boxes, right? :)

I just use warm water with a glug of white vinegar, a squirt of washing up liquid/dr bronners and some essential oil (whichever I'm in the mood for). I have given up on mops and just get down on my hands and knees with a cloth now.

I have to say the best thing I have used is some stardrops in hot water. I put 10ml (measured) into 4 litres of hot water, and it cleans beautifully. No streaks and dries easily.

All good ideas, honest, but I have to say that the best way of all is to get a cat...

    Squeaky,
I was waiting to see the cat to start rolling over the floor to mop up :D

I have been on my hands and knees but I am pretty sure I will not be getting younger and my chronic fatigue syndrome is not helping me to do any chores. So I have been reading about steam cleaner and I am leaning towards purchasing one. I should have looked at some video on Youtube. Excuse the robotic narrative but this makes it look cleaning ever so easy.

I'll have to start a new discussion on steam cleaner now :D
