don't have it in your bathroom LOL!! rented house, lifting laminate does my head in....Go hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last0

I've been using floor wipes for the laminate and spending a small fortune on them to be honest. I'm going to start mopping it but whats the best cleaning solution to mop it with? I've seen laminate floor cleaning bottle in town but it was £3.00 :eek:I'm trying so hard to be thrifty, but it doesn't come naturally. You lot are an inspiration!JUST LOVES THE O/S BOARD0

I just sweep/hoover my laminate floor and use a damp cloth to wipe up sticky marks. Anything that doesn't come off with a damp cloth I squirt with a bit of whatever general cleaner is handy. Seems to do the trick. I can't see why there is a need for a special laminate floor cleaner. I've never cleaned the whole floor with a mop. I clean the kitchen floor properly mind;)
Sounds like another job I've been doing wrong.0 -
I use one of those large flat mops - the pad is removeable. I rinse it out in hot water with a bit of disinfectant and washing up liquid added. I have never bought the expensive laminate floor cleaners.0

I use stardrops and water in spray bottle - the floors come up great and it doesn't make them slippery!0

thanks everyone. I think i'll purchase some stardrops after reading a lot of posts on here lots of you seem to rate it.I'm trying so hard to be thrifty, but it doesn't come naturally. You lot are an inspiration!JUST LOVES THE O/S BOARD0

I use a Lakeland microfibre mop just with water and wash the removable pad in the washing machine. I don't have kids or pets at home, but even when I did I mainly used hot water and a little squirt of washing up liquid. I think if you use too much detergent the floor gets sticky after a while. Like shampoo build-up on your hair.....0

Like Juliapenguin I got a flat microfibre mop thing from Dunelm mill, like this, and it was great on laminate, I just used to dampen in first then chuck it in the washing machine when I was done. If there was anything really stubborn just a little spray of multisurface cleaner first used to do it.0

my mum gets on her hands and knees and uses a cloth which has been damped in warm water and washing up liquid. and omg i've never seen laminate shine like it does my mum's. it is perfect. never a mark or smudge on it. ok so she has no small children or pet's like i do. but it is spotless. works perfect.0

For ease of use another vote for Stardrops in a spray bottle & microfibre floor pad combo.
The last poster is right, however, about getting down on hands and knees - when cleaning any floor it's the best way to get the floor spotless. It works really well on laminate.
I'll often clean the floor using method 1 for several times and then use the hands & knees method for a deep down clean.0
