Cleaning laminate flooring???

My kitchen and living area are all in one, so gets pretty mucky. I get on my hands and knees and handwash with a bowl of soapy water and a bamboo cloth (Wilkos). I buff dry with a a couple of microfibre pads (pound shop) and a lot more dirt seems to come up! I find most mops just seem to move the muck around, plus a mop needs more hot water and therefore more soap which is a waste.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

the microfibre cloths are brill at cleaning laminate! for those black marks that some shoes can leave my DIL uses a bit of damp Magic Sponge - not the dear JML one - the cheapo one from Aldi! I too am a great fan of this product.....specially when the grandchildren been crafting and got crayon or felt pen on the wall, it works a treat on that!0

Hello all,
Just thought I'd post about a concoction I made the other day for my new laminate floor - I mixed 100ml surgical spirit, 100ml water and 100ml vinegar in a spray bottle, sprayed it on the floor and mopped off with a microfibre mop - it's amazingI tried it on my hob as a degreaser too and it brought it up sparkling, do give it a try

do you think this would be OK on laminate tiles?
Wondering what it would do to the grouting, if anything0 -
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

If you mean the click together laminate flooring, that's what we have and it works brilliantly0

No it's not. It's almost like cement between the tiles. I didn't have it laid myself so not too sure what it is. I think I know what you mean though - think I've got it in the downstairs loo. Ican't see your 'potion' would cause a problem. I might give it a go. Thanks for the post0

Thanks for the tip, may give it a try. I ususally use floor wipes as I seem to have an elephants nest of fluff everyday, despite sweeping daily.0

I now have a laminate flooring in my flat and I want to know how to care in OS way as I don't want to use too much chemicals for my eczema.
I read somewhere that you can make up a solution of a 1/2 cup vinegar in a gallon of water to wipe and disinfect the floor.
My question is, how often should I do this? Once a month? Also, would the acid damage the laminate over time? and lastly what about the smell?Money is not the root of all evil.
It depends on how you obtain it and how you use it.
Have you sold your soul to the devil?0 -
I don't clean with vinegar because to be honest I can't stand the smell. It does go after a short while but I can smell it while I'm cleaning and I just don't like it.
I bought myself a steam cleaner, it cleans and disinfects with no chemicals at all, obviously there's the initial cost to consider but you can use it for cleaning just about everything not just floors.
