I clean mine with a well squeezed mop , warm water and squidge of either floor cleaner or when I run out I use washing up liqued.. been doing that for a long time and my floor looks fine still . Just make sure you squeeze the mop out well... and don't soak the floor

Surface wipes such as Flash are great. You can get some that smells of lemons too.

I`m another that uses a well squeezed out mop, i`ve been using this for 6 years in this house and it works a treat, the laminate in the old house was down for about 10 years before we moved and still looked as good as the day it was laid.

If i get the odd doggy paw print i have a spray bottle filled with water under the sink and i give it a squirt and run over it with a dry swisher type thing. This is a handle and a flat plastic head that takes a cloth type cover and afterwards the cover can be thrown in the washing machine. I think that i got this from Morrissons years ago and i`m sure that they still sell them as i`ve seen the blue and white spare covers for sale recently.

I also used a squeezed out mop. If the mop is squeezed enough, it won't leave water marks or smear - if this happens, the mop is too wet. I also find it best to mop lengthways along the planks instead of across 10 joins, it leaves my floor looking lovely and clean. Wipes are good too but I have a large area of laminate and it would take too long as I can't bend very well. :)

I use diluted bleach. I couldnt tell you ratios though. Just a squirt of bleach to a bucket of water! Clean with a mop.

  • hi i have just had a dark laminate flooring put in my living room :) just woundered if anyone had any tips on keeping it clean (dust free sreke free) ect ect

    thanks SBC x
  • What do the manufacturers have to say about it?

The only thing I know of to keep a wood/tile/laminate floor dust-free is to either not ever enter the room it's in or exercise constant vigilance. There are no short-cuts to getting rid of or preventing dust. Unfortunately.

For streaking, I'd be minded to not use too much detergent in your bucket so you won't have to give it a rinse off. I could be making this up but I think some posters have used Stardrops with good results. Every home-maker should have Stardrops in their cleaning-arsenal in any case, as you won't need a hundred different one-purpose-only-rip-off products so just pop out and buy some now and get it over with.
  • I found a recipe through Pinterest but I have to be honest I haven't tried it yet. It came originally from a blog called Natures nurture.

Not certain where to get rubbing alcohol, I would imagine online though, hth.

These threads should give you some ideas:

    Cleaning laminate flooring???

    Dull laminate floors

    Laminate floors & dust

I'll merge this thread with the first link later to keep the suggestions together.
