I found a recipe through Pinterest but I have to be honest I haven't tried it yet. It came originally from a blog called Natures nurture.

Not certain where to get rubbing alcohol, I would imagine online though, hth.
    :)

Rubbing alcohol, also known as Isopropyl alcohol and available in different strengths. Very useful stuff to have in the house (on a high shelf!) and especially good for stretching tight leather boots.

You can get it in your chemist but I found it cheaper to order on Ebay.

I have always wanted to know what I should be doing to the laminate flooring so I will check out that link. About to move to another house where I have asked the landlord to replace the old carpet with laminate (kids + eating at dining table + new carpet is a no go!) so I will want to look after it.

What about something like this but with a rigid handle?

I did once see a method for a diy paraffin waxed mop but can't remember the name of the book. (It was an old American household tips book and had instructions to make your own floor mat which began 'First nail a sheet to the barn door'
'Yaze whit yeh hive an ye'll niver wahnt'

(From Mae Stewart's book 'Dae Yeh Mind Thon Time?')
  • We've got Amtico flooring downstairs in a dark distressed wood style. Its gets swept/dusted around most days with a californian mop (£10), then 3 times a week it gets hovered and mopped through with a general floor cleaner. I like Tesco wood camomile scent or something fresh. Use the new twirl mop from Lakeland is just make sure the floor isn't kept wet.

I have dark laminate and my friends always remark on how clean it looks.I just hoover it every day or two, then use stardrops in hot water.

(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...

I've just realised I'm out of my usual floor cleaner, just wondering if there is anything os I can use until I get some more, it's to clean laminate if that makes any difference.
    Thanks in advance :)

I have a little bit of laminate flooring in the porch. I use hot water. :D;)
  • Vinegar and water mixed. I use it for my lino floor in the kitchen, it does the job.
