:j:j:j so pleased to hear she has gotten off on a good footing! at the cheek of her old school! It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your window

uolypool That is wonderful news!!! Hopefully this means a wonderful time in the future for her at school. I am so happy for you both. What a turnaround.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

Evening all
MSEMartin - happy birthday
uolypool - so glad DD got on ok!
Strange day at work. Got no kids at the moment so kinda in limbo! Spent the morning doing uni work in work
and then I had to drive for over an hour to meet an assessor for a qualification I'm doing in work cos she wouldn't come to me. She was 20mins late  and not a nice lady really! Then had to drive the hour back too. The driving was painful cos my shoulder has clicked slightly out of it's socket (it happens occasionally)
so that was killing me! It's feelign better now though.
I need to do a bit of uni work tonight, but I have tomorrow off work to do my assignment so not gonna push it too much tonight. I spoke to one of my coursemates earlier and she was stressing cos she has still not had 1 observed teaching yet  all our work is due in next week and she has to do 4 of them!! She will get an extention though as it's her tutor's fault, but she is still panicking.
OS wise - got a YS pizza bread for tea, with HM potato wedges. Need to put laundry away too.
Have a good evening all

Uolypool great news glad she e enjoyed it
well finally finished tea and stacked dw, came upstairs to run a bath and popped back down for my book, the dw had decided to empty itself all over the kitchen floor argghnh I must have been a bu@@er in my previous life, nothing famous like RIE lol, so just spent an hour mopping, now I really am having a bath and might take a g&t with me.
can't find anything suitable for the interview so will hit the charity shops tom for a rummage, letter says informal chat, be prepared to talk about why you would be suitable for about half an hour, to take notes or not that is the question, as a teacher it was always a presentation so this is a bit different for meStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Uolypool - Thats fantastic news re your dd 1st day at school.
Bargainbird - Its a recipe that I adapted, so here goes
25g/1oz butter
1 garlic clove, crushed (i use garlic salt)
1 small red onion ( i use whatever I've got)
100g/4oz risotto rice
3/4 rashers back bacon chopped
4 med size mushrooms chopped
1 tbsp chopped rosemary ( i just throw in some mixed herbs)
550ml chicken or veg stock
a couple of handful of frozen garden peas.
squirt of tomato puree.
25g/1oz parmesen cheese grated.( i use whatever cheese i have usually cheddar or similar)
Preheat oven to 180. put butter and garlic in ovenproof dish and place in oven for approx 2 mins until butter has melted. Add the onion and toss to coat in butter return to oven for3-4 mins until softened. I then put in mushrooms and chopped bacon and put back in oven for further 5 mins.
Add the rice, rosemary and stock and return to oven for 30 mins stirring once or twice during cooking. stir in the garden peas and tomato puree and return to oven for a further 10 mins, until all the liquid has been absorbed. stir in parmasen cheese and season to taste.
I tend to serve with a salad and french bread. the above serves 2 adults. I sometimes instead of garden peas use spinich or put chopped green peppars in at the same time as mushrooms and bacon. Hope you enjoy.0 -

Evening All
Glad to hear all is well Uolypool, hope you and DD are feeling much better.
JackieG, hope you are all feeling better, tummy bugs are horrid and seem to go through the household like wildfire.
Not a great deal of OS here, put the washing away and hung more on the racks, the weather is glorious and then we have a very heavy shower so not risking putting it out. Took a salad for lunch but dinner ladies gave me some soup and an omlette (their supervisor had gone out!!) so will have the salad tomorrow. Turned the lo pasta sauce from yesterday into a bean stew which was sooo tasty. Had that with a naan bread reduced to 8p (got a freezer full!).
Need to turn up the hem on DDs work trousers - not a job I like or am good at. I will give it a go, managed the first pair with wundaweb but am going to sew these.
Hope you all have a good evening, take care. XX0 -

Worth a try - I'm desperate at this point, and sick of lying awake staring at the ceiling all night, and being unable to stay awake during the day (I believe the doctors call it "reversed sleep pattern" or some such.)Rage_in_Eden wrote: »how about some sweetend hot milk and use a sprig of rosemary to stir it and steep it in it for a few minutes? That was suggested to me and it seems to do the trick for me.....sounds a bit hippy though.... :rotfl:
I never heard of milk with rosemary before, and all the "usual" remedies have failed dismally.
Actually, it sounds really nice, and as I have a huge rosemary bush in the back garden, it'll be easy to do.;)
Thanks.
Uolypool I'm so pleased DD enjoyed her day at school - long may it continue! If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Well adding a blitzed banana to DS's usual "pink" milk didn't work. He had a few sips and wouldn't drink it.
None of the other stuff with it in is something he'll eat. Pah to fussy eaters
