It's still dark in his bedroom as he has a black out blind, north facing bedroom so no sun and dark coloured curtains
His school at the back has a sensor light that gives the sun a run for it's money  and it shines directly into DS's bedroom hence all the blackout lining. Sadly I think he equates bed time with stress and darkness even if it's daylight outside - landing light is nice and bright and give him plenty of light in his room (more than a tradition dim night light) but it's a bit of a big stress. Yep he's got glow stars and a battery operated solar system fixed to ceiling above him.

Can't seem to find anywhere that sells this slumber milk......waitrose was mentioned and Sainsbugs but nothing on line. Think a trip is in order and I might make him a banana smoothing with his usual "pink" milk see if I can get it down him.
Thanks as always ladies, you are always on hand to help me when I need it. Really appreciate it
My mum swears by hot choc made from proper cocoa powder, (not the instant stuff) would he drink a hot choc before bed ??0 -
Afternoon everyone
Had quite a productive day here so far, reasonable weather too. Managed to cut hedge (finally). wm & dw both done. ordered some hoover bags online with free delivery. sorted out ds2 party for his birthday, he is going to a scout camp and doing water zorbing and demolition derby. I am going to pack up a picnic for the 12 boys, take drinks, cake etc. Has anyone any suggestions on party bag idea or gift for 11 year old lads?
Have swept all floors downstairs, just need mopping now, may put that off till tomorrow though. Didn't manage to put my ebay things on yesterday was too tired after work, so may try later this week.
Dinnertonight is bacon and mushroom oven baked risotto, may put in a weetibix cake too and perhaps some twinks.
Happy birthday to MSE Martin:beer:.
Uolypool - Hope your dd first day was good.
Bitsy - MY ds2 takes melatonin 2mg a day, it just calms him down ready to sleep, he is now 10 and goes to bed about 9.30 now instead of midnight/1am as it used to be. He is usually up at 6.30 ish though most mornings. It certainely has made a big difference to my life.
NPM - Thinking of you, Hope you are ok.
JackieG - Hope your ds & you & dh are soon better.
Bargainbird _ do you want some more ironing, it is my worst chore ever.
Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take Care and enjoy the rest ofyour day.

Bitsy,
My kids go to bed about 6.30 - 7.30 depending on their behaviour - but 7.30 is staying up!! My eldest doesn't go to sleep straight away - probably plays for about 2 hrs. I have compromised - he stays in his room, apart from using the toilet, and I will let him keep his light on. He plays with a few toys he has in there and also has some books that he "reads". As long as he doesn't come out he can have his light on, and he always falls asleep in his bed usually with the lights on! Makes for a happy mum (I can have some time out!) and a happy boy. xx Also have some lights from Ikea which are solar - they are brill and I don't panic about the cost of the electricity!
Also we went through a time of leaving him in his room with a relaxing cd on - works wonders. Relax Kids do a great range. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Magical-Meditations-Superheroes-Marneta-Viegas/dp/1905076010/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1304955452&sr=8-1-spell This is a link for one. They're fab.Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -

afternoon peeps, dD walked through the door about 15 mins ago with a HUGE smile on her face:j:j.She hasn't stopped jibbering about how fantastic her day was.She has already been to the sports teachers and asked if she can go to netball, hockey, trampolining, rounders and athletics after school clubs:eek::eek:.She will be exhausted by the end of each week at this rate , exhausted but happy. She got 4 merits in maths and english so is off to a really good start. She is even praising the school dinners apparently sushi was on the menu today. So all in all it has been one of the best decisions i have made . I had the old school phone me at 11 today telling me that dD wasn't in school and what was the reason.Think they got the message now.;). Thanks for all the kind words and advise that was given it definately makes things easier when you have other peoples perception on matters.(I think that is the word I was looking for;))Paul Walker , in my dreams;)0
