Yes Happy Birthday Martin, hello to everyone :hello: and hugs to all in need.

Well today has started in the way it will no doubt go on, pants. Spent most of the night up with back pain/gall bladder scar tissue pain....seems like my body knows when to throw a wobbler as today was my IVF scan as well. Which was also pants :( - upshot is they've taken bloods to check readings but TBQH they don't hold out much hope. I've got to hope for a level over 100 so it's 50/50 and I will find out later today....If it's not good then the cycle will probably be cancelled and we've been told to "do some soul searching about what we want to do", i.e. get a grip you're not going to be a parent deal with it....:( We've discussed what we want to do and TBQH we've not been happy with our current private provider for a while and only stayed because we haven't got a clue where to go. Our GP isn't the most helpful of people (it's like a battle of wills to get a blood test form arranged) and so we're thinking of going down to a London hospital for a second opinion or even one from abroad....I've only been on one "recipe" of IVF meds and I can't help thinking that maybe one of the other ones would suit me better as an older mum with all my attendant issues ......still what would I know? Anyway, at least we made enough mash and veg last night so I can make spicy potato cakes for dinner tonight and as for me I'm not really into eating today.... On a plus point it looks like I'll be taking part in a TV pilot for the USA probably next week. Great timing eh? :rotfl: Right I've got work in my in tray and somebody's got to pay for these doctors to have their flash cars....
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

TV pilot is a past life regression thing. Went to a theatre show on it recently and was called up on stage (that was the first surprise), was regressed - again, me? - and was apparently the "star of the show". Anyway, upshot is that I lot of the info I gave chcked out - my name and father's name turns out to be the only UK combo for that info, name of my son/husband and birthday etc even my local church and the road it was on which is now renamed (how would I know that about a place I have never been?).... A lot of it has freakily checked out so of course people are getting very excited. So...... they're hoping to film it in the next couple of weeks, have proper researchers on it etc. TBQH it is a mystery to me where this info came from, it was all so vivid too.... and it's fairly recent (war time based) so is relatively check-able.... Obviously if we go back far enough I will be Cleopatra :rotfl:

    Hello all.

Just been playing catch-up with the Daily for the last few days.;)

(((HUGS))) to all who need them - sadly, too many to sit and list!:(

Someone asked was it full moon (presumably because so many OHs are turning into veritable werewolves just now). No, it's not full moon til 17th, so I guess they must all have male PMT.:D

Oh, and Hoppy Birdday to MSE Martin, before I forget to say it.
Terrier Ted is going home this afternoon; he's been a model guest, very well behaved. He even helped me make Shepherd Spy yesterday - he hoovered up the bits that fell on the floor!:rotfl:

Hoping uolypool's DD is having a good day at her new school; hopefully she can put all the previous nastiness firmly behind her, and look forward to better times for the rest of her education.:o

I want to watch that show, right now! Sounds incredible RIE!!! Sorry the baby stuff is not going to well just now, I am with BB, you've got to be relaxed and happy about the treatment if it's going to get anywhere. Its Hannah Montana morning here, DS2 loves it but won't watch in front of his big brother in case he tells his pals :rotfl: We are about to snuggle down after this episode and read the rest of The Prisoner of Azkhaban. I have an upset tummy too now, and DH called from work to say he has it too  I hope DS1 is Ok at school.

I have been a bit worried about money but I have just realised I have £50 rainy day money put away, so I don't need to dip into my savings or my sistercas money now :j

    Morning my lovelies :D

You'll all be relieved to hear that marital relations have been restored ;) I think that lack of time we have as a couple (with DS not going to bed til 9pm) is having a big impact. Do you all think 9pm is too late for a 5 year old child? He's normally awake 6.30-7am the following day so getting a good quota of sleep and isn't showing any signs of suffering for this late bedtime.

Anyway am a bit  as was supposed to be having a review for DS with the SENCO at school and they've bloomin' well forgotton. Not a bit issues except they were going to decide whether or not to Statement him. Board that approves statements only meets 3 times a year, next one is in June, then in December. If they decide to go down that round and miss the June meet DS potentially has half a term in Yr 1 without the support he might need  (assuming statement gets approved of course but that's a whole other issue I don't want to be thinking about now :o)

Sunny and breezy here so have a load of washing to re-wash due to streaky dirty marks on the (typically) white washing grrr.
The usual round of housework and DD when she's back from pre school. Not terribly exciting :o

Tea tonight should be bacon cakes so I ought to go and get that out of the freezer.

Hester - <rollseyes> @ SS. Honestly they can't keep kids safe who are on the at risk register and yet give you grief about wedding pics........

ulypool - Hope DD has a fantastic first day :D

Rage - Hugs re the IVF. My friend just went through it, odds weren't stacked in her favour but is now circa 4 months pregnant so maybe there is still a bit of hope. Sending you positive vibes about it all that you'll have your little miracle soon xxx Pilot show sounds interesting :)

Butterflybrain - hope poorly tooth is better after your visit lunchtime x

MSE Martin - Happy Birthday :beer:

Hugs and spoons all round. Have a great day OS or not.

ETA - School have rescheduled SENCO review for next week....

    ETA Number 2:

JackieG - hugs for you, H and your boys.......hope this bug doesn't last too long xxx

Anyway rant over, although I still feel bad about not going.Anyway lots to catch up on today.Sorting finances, batch cooking, washing up, washing and trying to de red OHs shirt:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Having lazy morning as DDs are all at school, work or dentist and DH is happily pottering in the garden.

Washing machine and dishwasher are on and just about to get in shower then get dressed. Need to sew hem of trousers that I want to wear as one leg has unravelled itself and looks like a clown.

DDs wanted nice shampoos and nail stuff but chemists are at other end of town and don't fancy the walk today so found things on amazon with free delivery instead (herbal essence shampoo for £1 :j)

Happy Birthday to MSE Martin :bdaycake::bdaycake:

    Hester

Surely the whole point of fostering is that the children feel normal, included and cared about and a blanket ban on normal things like a family wedding photo would do the opposite of what SS say is the aim.

Neighbours are coming round for a cup of tea and chat at three so will do a quick tidy up later and get posh biscuits (DDs don't want me to bake my own in case they don't turn out well and I get stressed ;))

Planning on making chicken curry tonight and then encouraging DH to make up the flat pack tallboy for youngest's bedroom.

    Hugs to all

RIE, I had my IVF at The London Women's Clinic on Harley Street and they were brilliant (they are also one of the controversial clinics that treat older patients.) I don't know if they still do it but when I had my treatment (14 years ago) they had a scheme whereby if you paid for 2 lots of treatment you got a third free. (I was one of the lucky ones for whom it worked first time so my second treatment fee went to pay for the third treatment for someone else.) My lovely GP prescribed all the medication for me on the NHS.

To this day I still believe that the pessaries they give you after the treatment (which delay your period even if you aren't pregnant) were the thing that sealed the deal for me. I had spent months telling doctors that I didn't ovulate until the 18th day (but still with a 28 day cycle) and nobody took much notice of me. I will always believe that the slight delay afforded by the pessaries bought the ovum the extra few days needed to implant.

Good luck with it all :)
