    Debt-free and Proud!

Yeah we have twins in my dad's family too and that would make me go . Lol.

Welcome to the thread Walby! Having dates in your head does make it all less hypothethical which is so important on a broody day!
That's me too, we're going to Florida in September and OH is going mad at the itinerary that I've already written up, which includes which shops I want to visit and where I want to eat every night! :rotfl:
HA, I did that. BUT my parents ended up following it near enough to the letter and still say now how much easier it made the whole trip and how we'd have never got everything we wanted to done if we hadn't had it. Me and OH are thinking of going next May (if I'm not expecting by then, which I doubt!) and I'd definitely do the same again. This book is a BIBLE by the way. Used it all 3 times I've been and I'm getting the 2012 version as soon as it's out.
OH told me to get rid of my crafty stuff since I 'won't have time for that' once the baby comes along... hmph, I wonder if he'd feel the same about his xbox?! :p
I'm guessing not! :rotfl:But kids love crafts! Okay not for a few years but imagine the sock-puppets you could make!
My DH runs his own business, he has been going for nearly 3 years now, so it has lasted, but sometimes it is a bit difficult to work out what money is going to come from where as his is so changable that I'm in the process of building up a nest egg for us to use when we (hopefully) have wee ones.
It boggles my mind how people budget with variable income! I can barely manage on our fixed incomes. Good idea on the nest egg though.

My Orlando bible is this book, looks pretty similar to the one you use though! :)

I got the free Tommy's book in the post today, I'm impressed by how good it is considering they didn't even charge P&P! :D

Welcome to the thread Walby :D

Project 'Make Room For Baby' is underway! I've got 3 bags of books to go on Amazon/take to the charity shop if I can't be bothered to list them all! I've emptied a DVD/CD unit and rehomed everything that was on it so we can get rid of it... that'll leave a nice gap for a playmat! ;)

Next item on the list is a little cupboard that is actually overflowing with clothes, I want to send a big bag of stuff to the charity shop as I'm sick of tripping over clothes that haven't been worn for ages! I'm trying to work up the courage to tackle the wardrobes... :rotfl:

OH knows I'm serious now as I'm the untidy one in our family, he's the one obsessed with tidying and throwing things out usually so he was a bit shocked last night to see what I'd been up to!

    well done Birdie!
I'm going to try and take inspiration from you and see if I can tackle some small heap of clutter in my house tonight..:o I've been lurking on the flylady thread, to see if I could keep up with that-but I may have to start smaller!!

Oh one day I hope to be as good as the Flyladies! My energetic tidy cleany moments are far too sporadic at the moment!

I've been on the Ikea site looking for a storage chest but I have 'accidentally' found a load of new bedroom furniture that I really like and we really do need nice matching things as it's a total mismash right now and not a particularly nice room, it'll *only* cost £500 for the lot.... best get saving! :)

    Hello ladies! :)
For anyone Florida bound, I swear by this book (as does my eldest sister who's a little obsessed with Florida! :rotfl:):

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Brit-Guide-Orlando-2011-Guides/dp/0572036272

Gives you hints and tips on how to book limited things in advance, and to show up early at Discovery Cove (if you're going), and how to get around the best rides quickest and generally make the most of your time.

Worth it's weight in gold, IMO!

Have fun! I'm insanely jealous now! lol :rotfl:

ETA: Sorry, DreamDreamer, hadn't seen your post with the book you recommended. I bet it's also 'like...totally awesome man'. :D

Got it, read it, highlighted my favourite bits and put it in my hand luggage! :D

Just about to order our park tickets for when we're there and I'm  at the price! We could get all of the furniture I've decided we *need* and new bedding and curtains and still have some change from that money! Ah well, you can't put a price on memories! :)

    Tell me about it!!!

I nearly vomited when I saw the price of Discovery Cove, but I just HAD to do it! I absolutely adore Dolphins, and it's been a lifelong dream of mine to swim with them. I was soooooo glad I did it too! I suppose I shouldn't have paid out for photo's, DVD and keyrings etc though

That was my last holiday, in April 2008. *sigh*

I'd like to go to Discovery Cove but we're not going, think OH would actually keel over if I added that onto the list, maybe next time! We swam with dolphins on our wedding holiday in the Dominican in February so that itch has been scratched! :)

I was on fire last night, had a right good clearout (I even tackled the messiest wardrobe, although there's still some stuff on the bottom shelf that I haven't touched yet!) and I've got 2 big bags to go out so I have surpassed my expectations! Got really brutal, I've been hanging onto things for years and years because it cost a lot/ I've only worn it once/ it was a gift/ it was bought for a really special occassion... what's the point of hanging onto something that never gets worn just for the sake of it?!

I told OH about the bedroom furniture I liked and typically his answer was, 'What's wrong with the stuff we have?', oh yes, the 20 year old wonky drawers with a bad DIY paint job and the too-big-for-the-room wardrobe with a handle missing and a bar that can only hold 5 dresses before collapsing under the weight and the bedside tables with drawers that refuse to open are all lovely! Men never quite see the bigger picture do they?!
