I told OH about the bedroom furniture I liked and typically his answer was, 'What's wrong with the stuff we have?', oh yes, the 20 year old wonky drawers with a bad DIY paint job and the too-big-for-the-room wardrobe with a handle missing and a bar that can only hold 5 dresses before collapsing under the weight and the bedside tables with drawers that refuse to open are all lovely! Men never quite see the bigger picture do they?!
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
that made me laugh out loud!!
I sort of failed last night with my clearing out the house, I went on ebay and found an american fridge freezer thing that was a bargain price, so all I have done is add to the clutter! Even better, DH phoned me to tell me he is collecting it today and is taking out the washing machine to fit it in! His exact words: "would you rather have a fridge or a washing machine?" ermm...both?!! :rotfl:

Wahay, I'm on the front page! Makes it all a bit official now! Nice to see you here COMP!
Glad my bedroom woes makes someone happy! I reckon I might be able to talk my Mum into offering some 'help', every time she comes round I can see her wincing when she sees it, she's obviously biting her tongue! The rest of the flat is lovely though, just a shame that the room we're planning on spending a lot of time in over the next several months (;)) doesn't exactly set the mood!
You've got to love Man Logic, fridge or washing machine indeed! :rotfl:Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Fridge! No contest!
Welcome back COMP, looking forward to hearing about it all.
Turns out my abnormal blood tests had nothing to do with babymaking, but my weird blood disorder. Have to go back to the haemotologists to see if they want to start regular venesection (removing a pint of blood) as its worsened and all the meds are contraindicated in pregnancy.
So thats fun... On the plus side I'm off to London with my best mate for 3 days.DEBT FREE 3rd Sept 2011

Birdie - I completely understand about the wardrobe thing. When I first moved in with OH, he only had one of those small, cheap, Ikea wardrobes (the ones with a basic wooden frame and a removable fabric cover) and it was already pretty full! There was not nearly enough space for me to store my clothes, and the bedframe was also falling apart at least once a week etc. It was driving me mad, and I brought it up with OH over and over and over again, and he kept dismissing it as 'no big deal', 'the ones we have are fine' etc.
It wasn't until I broke down one day crying and insisted that if we didn't save up and get some new furniture, I'd leave. I know that sounds drastic, but I felt there wasn't any space for me in the flat, and like he didn't care about that, and also I just couldn't settle there at all as it didn't feel like home to me. He honestly had no idea how upset I was about it, and we started looking at new furniture that evening. We used Ikea's bedroom planner, and picked out a wardrobe (with a full length mirror on one of the doors - I cannot tell you how much I love that mirror! There was no mirror in the bedroom before this!), a new bedframe (with a backboard that has cupboards/shelfs on either side that slide in and out on wheels), a new coffee table and a new bathroom storage unit.
It's odd, as soon as we started looking at a new bedframe and wardrobes, he suddenly wanted to kit the whole house out! lol. Thankfully, managed to limit it to just those 4 items, and we'll probably wait until we've bought somewhere now, before buying any other stuff.
Does anyone watch Daybreak? Did you see the competition for the campervan last week? Told OH about it, and then he started looking at the campervan online and has now decided that we should get one as we could certainly make use of it before any babies come along, and then even more so once they haveSeeing as it's about 43k retail price though, we shall be holding off! haha. He's seen some second hand for 20k though, which is more palatable, and a little bit more affordable (once my debt is cleared). Still chuffing expensive though!
CD20 here, I think I ov'd on CD18, but am not sure as my symptoms haven't been as strong or as obvious as previous months. I'm wondering if the shock and pain from the root canal last week has scared my ovaries! haha
I hope everyone is well!
((HUGS)) and chocolate for all who need them, and of course, a big welcome back to COMP!*waves*

I love the Ikea bedroom and wardrobe planners! In our spare room we've got 2 'Pax' wardrobes (planned online!), one of which will be altered with the little bar extender thingy and some extra shelves for tiny clothes when the time comes! I just really wish that our bedroom was as nice as everywhere else, everyone who comes round is surprised by just how nice our flat is and comments on how well put together it is, then they get a glimpse of the bedroom and the effect is ruined! I think OH just doesn't see it, we need to paint the walls but he says they're fine, despite one wall having 6 different patches of colour on where I was trying to find a paint I liked and marks all over from general wear and tear!
I'd love a campervan but they are chuffing expensive! My parents were looking to buy a static caravan on the North East coast but we did the maths and figured out that taking into account depreciation and the site fees it'd actually work out cheaper to stay in a hotel every time they went up there!
LOL at the thought of scared ovaries!
Blood problems don't sound too good dreamdreamer, if they start taking blood will that be long-term or just for a while to see if you improve? Have a fab time in London!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Hi, hope you dont mind if I join you?
I'm waiting to see if we're waiting to TTC but there isn't a thread for that, so I thought I'd join here
Basically I lost a baby a month ago through an ectopic pregnancy - it was awful and I nearly died. Consequently they had to take one of my tubes away- so I'm only firing on one cylinder now. The baby we lost was a lovely surprise, we had decided that 3 was enough for us and I was taking the mini-pill. However, it obviously failed us and I fell pregnant but probably because I was taking the pill, the pregnancy was ectopic. I collapsed and had to have it removed at 8 weeks pregnant. This has stirred up a lot of emotion for me, I now know that I really really want to have another baby, but at the same time because I was so poorly DH isnt keen for us to try and get pregnant again. Its very early days after the loss of our baby so I'm not badgering him (I havent even brought the conversation up) and I understand that my hormones are still running riot! but I would like to think that by this time next year we might be TTC, either that or I will be content with the 3 beautiful children we have.
Looking forward to getting to know you all x0 -
Jess welcome and I'm sorry to hear about your little angel:( I can't imagine how hard that was for you, hope you're physically healed now. I can totally understand your DHs train of thought but tbh if you do get pregnant again you should have constant monitoring throughout the pg due to the previous complication which, hopefully, will eliminate any unnecessary worrying for him.
Are you still taking the mini-pill or using other methods??1.11.09 - debt = £45k:eek:

Hi Jess, and welcome!
((HUGS)) for your loss and I hope you are feeling a lot better now (physically at least, if not emotionally).
Take your time, and discuss with hubby when you feel more ready.
In the meantime, you can discuss any fears/worries/concerns/broodiness etc here with us.
