Hello to the newbies!
Feeling pretty rubbish today, AF has turned up unexpectedly 10 days early. Hope it's just because I've come off the pill recently (2.5 months), but going to doc tomorrow anyway so will see what they say.0 -
i've been taking the pill for about 7 years now and i'm on the mini pill atm which i take all month and AF comes naturally without me stopping. I don't get AF very often and i'm worried it'll take a long time to get regular again - does this stop my chances of conceiving effectively?0

the links above may help answer some of your questions hun, and im sure theres lots of ladies on here that can also help x
Hope I've quoted right!
Thanks for those links they're much better than what I've found. Looks like it'll be SMP for me unless I get a new job which has a nice maternity package!
Am I correct in thinking you can have the maximum time off on SMP on the basic rate and then decide not to return to that job (or work at all for that matter) without incurring a penalty?
I am dreading having my implant removed, was bad enough putting it in (yes I know it's nothing compared to childbirth!:p but still!)

Hello Ladies! Sorry I've not been on here for a while. I'll be honest the reason is because the whole 'waiting to ttc' is becoming all consuming and I am trying to get on with life and concentrate on other things. But it seems to be getting harder not easier
It is quite literally the thing I think about first thing in the morning, last thing at night and pretty much any point during the day when I am not occupied. I know there are lots of all that feel the same, but I wish I could just find a way to switch it off for a day! I can't though, and I suppose the best way to deal with it is to keep in more regular contact with this lovely group who are all feeling the same!
I've tried to read through from the last time I posted to the current date to catch up on where everyone is at! From what I can gather we have the following:
browneyedbazzi - from you recent posts I think you are busy with work and moving? I hope it's all going well! At least it keeps the broodiness at bay a bit!
Ellie83 - moving too! Hope all is going well!?
chocoholic_chick - i think last time i read your post you were planning on ttc soon? Hows the plans going?
optimistic-mummy - trying to pay off debts before ttc again - hows it going? Debts are my obstacle and I hate it!
bride2be2012 - moving as well (we have a lot of moves going on!) hows yours going?
jovie - just to reassure (if my post hasn't already) you have not lost the plot. We are all baby crazy i think!
Lara44 - How are you feeling without your implant? I had one for a year but then it sent AF crazy so I came off it! I am on the pill now. Autumn next year is looking more realistic for us to TTC as well - seems ages away right now!
amus - how is your job going? Are you enjoying it?
Then I think we have newbies:
Missterious, CharlotteK, lilmissmup and welsh_cosmic welcome!
Its good to know there are few other 'step mums' in the mix! Obviously I don't know everyone's exact positions but for me having step children adds the extra financial worry when figuring out when to ttc due to maintanence that still needs to paid and then the bedroom worries (i.e we are in a 3 bed now, my step children have a room each - when we do have a baby and it grows up we have a challenge - older step kids and a baby - how do we make sure there is enough room?!?)
Sorry if I've missed anyone, or missed a step in anyone's planning when to ttc journey! I have written this list so I can try and be a more proactive contributor to the group by trying to keep up with where everyone is at!
virtual hugs to anyone who is having a tough time for whatever reason (even if it's just the baby craziness we all suffer with!)

Hi Miss Bolan, welcome back! Good to hear it is not just me! I think coming here and knowing you are not the only one definitely helps you stay sane!
So I think my OH is coming round to the idea of abandoning all contraception and just seeing what happensIf i can convince him then we may do that for a few months and if nothing happens we can start actively trying - so excited!!
Jovie x0 -
Oh Miss Bolan can empathise with you there - it's so hard to be patient! When are you planning on starting to try? I hope it's not too long away.
Sounds like good news Joviefingers crossed for you.

Good morning and happy friday to all!
Welcome to the new ladies! For those who are questioning whether or not they've lost plot...I try to see it as not 'losing the plot' but as finding a slightly different one!
Miss Bolan - things are going ok thank you! I've been in limbo waiting for a start date for my new job but it was sorted out earlier in the week so I can start counting down now! Just need to find a new place to move to now so I can get to the job lol. I went and spent some time with my new team this week and they're really nice people have good things to say about the management and organisation where I'm going and kept telling me I've made the right decision which was nice.
As for the WTTC front....I'm quite relieved because AF has turned up now so I'm feeling positive about getting back to a regular cycle since coming off hormonal contraceptive (I had been quite worried that I'd end up with irregular AF and a long wait for things to return to normal). I'm also really pleased to not have a headache or pains which I had been getting quite badly with withdrawal bleeds.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -
tiptoes back in.....:o
Happy Friday all! Sorry I haven't been around - it has been mental. We went back to the UK for a month and appear to have bought a house....I am now trying to get everything done, exchange and complete from Kenya. Why do I do this to myself?! I say myself cos my lovely OH is off to Asia for three weeks on business, so I will have to do everything.
It is a lovely house though... I am so so pleased we got it. It hadn't even gone on the market properly. It's a couple of minutes walk from the beach and is pretty big, so lots of incentive now to get myself properly fit for TTC. I may have already been sneaking peeks at lovely vintage fabrics for a possible nursery.
Does anyone feel like time is just racing away from them? What with work trips for both of us, uni work, the whole house thing and normal life it is going to be Christmas before I know it. Then we are properly on the count down to moving back. Scary.
Well done/congrats to those of you moving/buying houses, losing weight/paying off debts etc. The talk about feeling uncomfortable about becoming pregnant soon after a new job is interesting. Is it terrible that I am planning (hoping) to be able to take maternity leave after only short spell back at my proper job, after having been away for 7 years :rotfl:?!
Oh and spots - SPOTS ! Why is it that as a teenager I didn't suffer, whereas now as an ancient 29 year old I get them all the bl00dy time?
Hi to all the newbies and all you other baby crazy people. I will stick around this time - honest!"No society can surely be flourishing and happy of which by far the greater part of the numbers are poor and miserable"Adam Smith6/300 -
Happy Friday everyone! I was hoping we would be TTC from April as I was hoping to get a chunk of debts cleared off by then, but I sat down on Tuesday and did a 12 month projected forecast of our income, and it turns out we have less money than I thought! So that just left me totally deflated. Without my income I just dont think we'd cope, so really theres no point in trying to have a baby with that being the reality. It's just hard to come to terms with as my husband will be at uni until 2015 and if wait until then I thin (a) I'll be completely crazy by then and (b) I am so worried if it takes ages I'll be much older than I want to be!!
So it's just difficult, becuase if we start trying next year and it takes 12 months my husband will be nearly finished at uni, which would be great, but if it happens quickly then it might be a struggle financially. But then I worry if we wait say 2 years and then it takes a long time to conceive we'll have wasted all that time! It's so hard! I wish money wasn't an issueTrying to be good and watch the pennies, but guilty of falling off the wagon every so often!

Afternoon ladies
Been a while since I've posted on here, just haven't had much time lately to do anything as works been so manic!
So I came off the combined pill last week and for the first few days seemed to suffer some side effects ( migraines, tiredness even though I slept for 10 hours , sickness, loss of appetite to name a few! ) thankfully they seemed to have settled down now. So at the moment we're not trying as I want to wait until I get my first normal AF and I've no idea how long that will take as I've been on the pill for 10 years I think! Then hopefully after then we'll start TTC which is both exciting and terrifying!! Just going to see how it goes to begin with and if things don't happen naturally after a few months then might think about temping etc
Sorry it's just a quick update and I don't have time to reply to others, just managed to grab a quick 5 minute break to update you all.New House... New Mortgage! February 2017: £144,000
