Those who are waiting to TTC

One of the reasons we are waiting is because I have been at my job 1 year in 7 weeks so will get SMP then.
I want to change my career completely though so don't plan on returning to this role after I had a baby plus its long hours and they wouldn't let me do part time.
AF is now 4 days late......another test taken this morning and negative again. I have one test left to go so will leave it a few days and then see, I am normally early never late!
Was up last night with a bad stomach though so had to come home from work this morning as felt really bad.
I feel so bloated and hungry all the time, think me wanting a baby is making me look for symptoms though!
Although I would still rather wait until next year! Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Hi everyone,
Its been ages since I posted here! Hope everybody is well!
Last time I was on the minipill and we were hoping to move house before TTC and my OH ideally wanted to get married first so we were and are still frantically saving money. But I got sick of being on the pill, AF was all over the place, my skin was a mess making me feel rotten not to mention the moods. And so I am no longer on the pill and for the past couple of weeks we have been 'not trying, not preventing' although OH is determined to invest in some condoms!!
Since I have come off the pill I think I have gone completely baby mad! Before, i could always convince myself that it was best to wait but now i'm so tired of waiting, I just want to get on with it!
One of my friends is due in December and I have a 6 month old cousin who is just gorgeous so my broodiness has gone off the scale, its pretty much all I think about! I think at the moment my OH thinks I just want him for his bits :rotfl:
So I thought i'd drop by and make sure i'm not the only one like this!! Please reassure me that I havent lost the plot?

Hello everyone! Can I join? I'll admit I've only read the last two pages as there's so much but it'll be nice talking to people in a similar situation
We're getting married next July so both want to wait until then. The only thing that's confusing/worrying me slightly is the maternity pay issue. I have no idea about anything I know everyone is entitled to something but that's it. I started my job this summer and it's a very small company and it will be very awkward and difficult to go on maternity leave or similar. It's also not a great job, not paid very well and I'm not happy. OH keeps saying bear all that in mind and find something else but I keep thinking if I got a job now then I'd be off on maternity leave without working for a full year with a new employer and I don't think I'd be entitled to anything.
Sorry that's turned into a massive rambleCould anyone enlighten me or point me in the direction of an answer - not to my life problems but to basic maternity rights/pay!
Thanks in advance!Saving for our wedding July 2013!0 -

Helloo Everyone
I haven't posted for ages either, hope you're all well. I got my implant out last week so I feel like some progress has been made towards TTC, even though we're not planning to try until next autumn.
I've been doing postgrad study for a few years so I'm not sure I'll be entitled to anything maternity-wise. Will have to do some more research. Thanks for the links Optimistic Mummy:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -

hiya, just unlurking to let you know that you don't have to be working somewhere for a year to qualify for SMP. As long as you were working there when you fell pregnant you should qualify - you have to have been working there for 6 months (26 weeks) at the qualifying week, which is 15 weeks before the baby is due. https://www.gov.uk/statutory-maternity-pay/eligibility
hope all you ladies are getting on ok and the waiting isn't too hard, it was only this time last year I was posting on here, and our baby's due in 3 weeks :eek:Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Hello, is there room for another one?
i've been with my partner for 2.5 years but known him for 4. we live together and have done for only 4 months but when you know, you know right? my biological clock has been pretty hard to ignore the last few weeks and it's all i can think about. I know my partner wants a baby but the financial side is holding him back.
i'm still on the pill but i must admit i don't really want to be taking it.
How is everyone else coping? i'm going baby mad!0 -

Same here Im holding out as Im waiting to start a new job but seeing babies and pregnant women everywhere is hard! Especially because I should have been 6 months pregnant at this point. Its worked out in the end because I wouldnt have been able to go for this new job but still makes me sad that I've no bump0 -
Everyone around me keeps popping up pregnant, just found out my cousin is having another baby and she's only a few months older than me! made me quite jealous0
