Awwwwwwww. It's like Elizabeth Stone once wrote: "Making the decision to have a child – it’s momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body."

My mum admitted to me she cried when I went to pre-school for the first time. But I, ungrateful daughter, was so happy :rotfl:

    That's a lovely quote ellie!

These things always make me choke up a bit too...depending on how hormonal I am or what kind of day I'm having all sorts of things will get to me though. I've been known to have a little tear at the aptamil advert on tv lol

I'm at home going a bit stir crazy this morning waiting for it to be time to go to my job interview. I was totally chilled about the interview until last night when I had a mini panic...can't wait for it to be over and out of my hands!

I hope the interview went well Browneyedbazzi! I know what you mean: we're fine until it actually dawns on us that a panel of people will be judging everything we say/do, etc! But what a relief once it's over.

Awww, yes, some adverts really make me tear up too! And today I saw a mother with her toddler, they were talking and she looked so happy and her son was just so adorable! I had to stop and say "what a cute little boy!" :o I just couldn't help myself :o

And I weighed myself today, and after several weeks of losing nothing, I lost 4lbs  It just comes in waves with me!

I hope everyone had a lovely day :)

Well done on the weight loss, Ellie! I'm trying to loose some weight before we start fully trying. 2lb so far :)

For those buying while things are cheap you can currently get the huggies new born kits (27 new born nappies, a packet of wipes and cotton pads) for £3 in Asda, then there's a coupon inside for £1 off a packet of huggies wipes which are currently £1. So free! Makes the nappies less than 4p each if you take the cost of the huggies wipes alone off. So really good! I only got one pack, as we plan on using reusables but thought as long as our baby isn't a total beast they should see us through the first few days while we get settled. Hope this makes sense :p

Love that poem! I've saved it as I know either OH's Parents or Nan (if I edit it a bit!) will love it when the time comes. I've been a complete wreck emotions wise these past few days, cried at my Sister this morning as she was mentioning moving to America. I just burst out in tears asking her not to go :o I don't even know where that came from!
  • Thank you Ellie - the interview went well and they called to offer me the job an hour after I left! I was quite surprised because recruitment processes for local government jobs are usually painfully slow and I hadn't expected to hear anything until next week some time. Waiting for my partner to get home tonight so we can have a proper talk about it and decide what to do. They want an answer tomorrow so not much time to think about it!! He'll be a while yet so I'm yo-yoing between baking cakes (birthday at work tomorrow) and looking at properties near to the new job on rightmove lol.

Cinny - it's probably best not to stock up too much on nappies and wipes in advance because nappies have a best before date on them and can go 'off' and also for wipes and nappies some babies don't get on with some brands.

I definitely won't be buying anything for a while...if I take this new job then I think it'll be another year before we ttc so that I can qualify for all the additional maternity benefits before going off.
