  • I'm not using ovulation tests - not really my thing. But as you say it would probably be useful if you've got PCOS or very long cycles.

    Hi comp,

Have you been temping? I feel a bit inexperienced on the big thread as im waiting for next af, my 2nd cycle after pill so not much going on. Might try temping eventually but interested to know how it works.

Oops sorry for hijacking ladies x

COMP - Have you left us? :(

  • ellie - I think most of us have pangs of envy from time to time so please don't feel guilty about that! I seem to be surrounded by people who are pregnant or have recently had babies and as happy as I am for them I do feel a bit jealous at times..you're definitely not alone!

optimistic_mummy - I think that ellie's ideas are good ways of dealing with your inlaws. If you tell them you don't want help or that you're concerned about their finances that might offend or upset them, but suggesting less costly ways for them to help you will mean everyone is happy as you have what you need and they've had the opportunity to contribute.

comp - I'm sure you'll always be welcome here! I think it's nice to hear back from graduates with advice/words of wisdom/updates :)
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!

OK, I'm sure it was explained before but what is AF? I know BFP and BFN and a TLP. We're learning so fast :D We may be "waiting" but we're not idle :rotfl:
  • Minimuffin, yes I'm temping. If you venture onto the big thread, you'll see my name in blue on the opening post - click on the link and that will show you my chart.

Ellie - AF is 'aunt Flo' or 'that time of the month'

Lilymay - nope not left you, but I like to pop back here every now and then to answer questions. I remember feeling intimidated by the TTC thread and not wanting to ask silly questions. So I like to help out here where I can

Thanks Cinny, you ade me feel better, because I was really starting to think I was a horrible person :o

It's no problem :) We're all here for support, right? And you helped me feel better last week when my OH had a wobble and my Sister was rude. Hope you're feeling more positive today Hug-Emoticon-1-.gif&sa=X&ei=VDhQUPqoJ4eX1AXg-IC4BA&ved=0CAsQ8wc&usg=AFQjCNG8Az_qCES3eqm1RUAmD__94RXlvQ

Now, who knows, there may be a mini Cinny in 9 months time :D Wouldn't that be great? :D

Be great for me, terrifying for the rest of humanity!

I think baby-dance is just an internet phrase though? Coined it from a TTC blog :)
what do i say to them without sounding mean and unappreciative. xx

I think Ellie got it right. Ask for their help with other things, like getting your MIL to help decorate the baby corner. I think that's a lot more special and memorable than just buying something. Hopefully they'll see it that way too :)

OH and I have created a list on the fridge last night. Boys and Girls names! I keep on thinking of ones, or hearing them somewhere, but I ultimately forget them. So the idea is if one of us thinks of a name then it goes on the list, but if the other sees it and doesn't like it then they can erase it. We culled and then added to the girls list so as for now we stand at Paige, Willow and Ivy.

Got really light period cramps today, had some last night too. AF isn't due for another couple weeks, I think it might just be stress for my new job :undecided
  • Awww, you're sweet Cinny :)

I looooooove, the names Willow and Ivy. We have a list of names too, but mainly for girls, I don't know why. My husband always uses his veto though, it's so annoying, he won't do what I want :p And I, on the other hand, I'm obsessed with finding a franco-british name :rotfl: Thing is, some English names sound so old in French and vice versa. And it's mainly boys' names.

Ugh, stress is awful with messing up with hormones. I had a visit from AF (I love it :D ) 3 times in one month once, and I thought I was dying so I rushed to see my GP who told me it is not common, but it can happen. And my blood pressure was... Well high!

New jobs are always stressful. But think of how much money you earn for the baby fund! When I say "no" to something I want to buy, I always try to find the equivalent in home improvement or baby terms. So say £40: one square metre of Cath Kidston vinyl tiles (yes, I'm obsessed with her design :D ) OR some good quality folic acid :D
