    Hello All!

I'm back from my trip to the UK and had a fantastic time!!!! I have barely any voice left though after talking so much and then trying to shout over the music in the evenings! lol

Hope everyone is well! I still need to catch up on the thread!

I'm seriously considering getting a Kinect. The only problem with that is OH is usually on the xbox which lives in one of the bedrooms so he'd need 'persuading' to let the xbox downstairs!

I'm also using some of the dance games on the Wii but haven't found them to be very responsive - perhaps the kinect ones would be better?

I've not used Kinect and have only used a Wii for bowling but I can sympathise with having an xbox hog - mine's on it now! We were talking about house buying and his only stipulation was that he gets his own room for his xbox and projector!

I also find the Davina DVDs good - they are proper work outs and I love that you can choose between long and short workouts etc.

    Hello All,
I've downloaded a new app on my phone called "what to expect" fertility tracker. It tracks AF and tells you the best times for TTC on the calendar. It also has daily articles about things to do in preparation for TTC. Thought some of you might be interested.

    *waves*

It has gone a bit quiet in here and I'm a long time lurker of the ttc, <12 wks and this thread so I thought I might pick one and actually join in!

Bit of an introduction... I'm 26 and my husband and I have been married for 6 months. He has a child already (I'm a stepmum!) and we originally talked about having a year of fun before starting to ttc. I got bored of that idea and managed to persuade him that we could start trying a bit early (cos, you know... it can take ages to conceive...) and the plan was to have my coil taken out in June. But I had my smear test done in Jan and it came back with borderline changes. They said wait for a while then have it done again, which I did, and on Saturday it came back AGAIN saying that there are borderline changes. So it looks like we've got another 6 months to wait before I can even get tested again, and I'm incredibly frustrated and annoyed and disappointed and now I'm here venting.

    So, hi.

I've not really changed my diet but I have started taking conception support supplements from Boots (they recommend taking folic acid for about 12 weeks before starting to try). It's probably good that we can't start ttc yet, as I've been absolutely useless at remembering to take them! I'm thinking that I might tone down my borderline alcoholism when we actually start ttc too...

Oh yeah, and I am the least patient person in the world so this is killing me. And at the moment I have no intention of charting, or taking my temperature, or peeing on ovulation sticks... except I've begun noticing EWCM so obviously it's a slippery slope! (no pun intended...)

hi there - thought i'd pop in and say hi. I probably should be in ttc but the chat here is more where my head is at at the moment. We have made the "do it" decision (literally!!) this week and the plan is thus:

    - keep taking the folid (have been for about 3 months now)
    - have a go every two days
    - dont get even thinking about charting and temping for 3 months or so - tho i know what you mean about the slippery slope sararararara - i'm on the look out
    - try to cut down on the drinking / sushi / soft cheese / rare steak and everything else that tastes good just in case

Also i am busy employing some new strategies at work and socialising to blur the lines - aforementioned not getting smashed, taking lots of snacks into meetings (im always starving at work), drinking less tea, indulging my hourly trip to the loo. Hoping that then noone will suspect when and if it happens. Mental prep i guess mostly...

    hope that is useful!

    Hi Pollyhelen & Sararara!
Love your idea PH, I think I'll start doing things differently at work too!

Hello to pollyhelen and Sa-ra-ra-ra! Like the idea of changing the work tactics - when the time comes I may have to employ some of those as my boss has banned me from getting pregnant.

    urgh...moan alert!!

spent most of the night awake with a horrid scratchy throat and feel like poop today. I never realised how much talking my job requires...

Well - looks like CD1 for me today. I had a play with Fertility Friend last night and it looks like my average cycle is about 31 days but I will keep track from now on to see if that changes. I am a bit surprised this month as normally in the week running up to AF I get super hungry - mostly for savory carbs. I didn't seem to this time, although I have been exercising massively more so maybe the chemicals released by the exercise dealt with the piggy hormones more?!

I am also kicking myself - I got my result back for my third uni assignment and although it is good I know I could have done better - the subject matter was just so not my thing. The next one is more exciting though.

Hope everyone is ok and looking forward to the weekend!

Hi Kalama  Hope you feel better soon. I'm currently waiting for an assignment to come back....aaaah! It was the last ever essay of the course so would love to get a good mark!

Euronorris - glad you had a fantastic time :) Were you visiting family and friends?

Well not much to report here. Currrently spending my days doing lots of reading for my disseration *gulp* Have planned a cheapo camping trip next weekend with DH, my sister and her partner which I'm looking forward to :)

I've also been trying to find out what my new employers maternity policy is/will be. Not having much luck and don't want to ask already so will have to wait until my contract comes through...I can't wait to get the actual document, will make the job seem more real!

    Take care all

Hello to pollyhelen and Sa-ra-ra-ra! :hello:

And welcome back to euronorris! Where in the UK did you go?

On the subject of the "wait and see" method vs the "temping/EWCM/ovulation tests" method. I would be terrible at the latter, I rarely know what day it is because my shifts throw me out horrendously. Whilst it may well come to all that there is zero point in me tracking my cycle at the moment because it's non existent pattern wise. We're just gonna get busy in the hay from August and see what happens until at least christmas. If no joy by then we might look at clomid and go from there. I'm soooo hoping it happens fast, dreading that it probably won't, and terrified about when it does! :rotfl:

We had a conversation at work overnight between the women about the one extravagant baby purchase you'd love to buy (for those who havent had kids) or wish you'd bought (for the mums). Mine was a sleight cot. I love them. They remind me of christmas and movies and cosy homey things. Sooo overpriced but I might indulge anyway! Anyone got similar things that they know are unnecessary but they just WANT?

    Have a good day all

Hi all and welcome to the newer than me newbies:D

Sa-ra.... I'm shortening it or I'll forget how many 'ra's there are:p checking EWCM and getting an idea of what your 'normal' is is a good idea, and one of the easiest ways to see where u are in the month imo:D

I used to have a 34 day cycle(annoying much!) but since I've only had 1 period in the last 6 months(gotta love breastfeeding!) it may have changed..knowing my luck it'll be blinking longer!

Welcome back to Euro, glad to hear you had a good time:D
COMP the kinect dance games are great(read knackering) but if you you already have a wii it might be just as good to get a fitness game..I have the EA active one which is brilliant, just need to use it:o
Kalama I have a tech geek hubby too! He has his own 'media' room which includes his xbox, ps3, gaming pc, 2 projector screens(1 fixed, 1 portable) and a fan to keep it all as cool as possible! Me thinks I let him get away with too much:o:rotfl:

I have 'womanlog' on my android, it's free and its nice and basic for a numpty like me:p, think it only tracks AF and predicts the days you're fertile though, like I said, nice and basic:)

Can't remember anything else and I'm having issues with my !!!!!! MD, for some reason he can't understand basic hotel cancellation policies and I'm having to go through and try and get hin refunds:mad: Says he needs the money! Not like he owns a multi-million £ business or anything is it?!? Oh wait....HE DOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!:mad::mad:
