I'd never heard of it or what it means before joining this thread (and lurking a little on the TTC thread) so I was surprised to read that it is an indicator of ov. Does anyone know of any other reason for EWCM? I shouldn't be ov because of the patch (and I don't think I have ov because before going on hormonal contraception I had nasty cramps whenever I did and that hasn't happened) but I do sometimes get EWCM and I don't understand why!
Sorry if that's a bit tmi!!
Not always indicative of ov - sometimes women get it after ovulation when it's indicative of a change in hormone levels.
And are you sure it's definitely EWCM? Sometimes it's actually 'leftovers' that get mistaken for EWCM as they're quite similar. And there you were apologising for TMI and I go and post that!

erm...i have read about the difference between EWCM and leftovers and I'm pretty sure this isn't leftovers.
Oh my, never thought I'd be discussing this sort of thing on a public forum! :rotfl:Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -

There's nothing to apologise for...it's just funny how these things sneak up on you lolCommon sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -
Err....sorry for TMI, but I often get er....extra wet down there (not too different from EWCM) right before AF shows up. So it could just be your hormones changing balance every now and then?
I also noticed that when I ditched the soda, and started drinking lots of water, that I was er....generally wetter down there (and had loads of EWCM during ov). So, does it perhaps happen on days when you are more hydrated?February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
I haven't really paid much attention to how hydrated I was or time of the month etc before so I don't know if there's a link. I generally drink loads of water because if I'm dehydrated I get nasty headaches. I'll pay closer attention in future and see if I can draw any links!Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0

My EWCM has greatly increased since I started my healthy eating and exercising routine. I now drink 2L of water a day (and it had also made a huge difference on my skin on my face: much nicer now
)
BUT I am not on any contraceptive. In fact, after reading all the things about pills and stuff, I'm kind of glad I stopped ages ago! I stopped because I just always forgot to take my pill regularly so we used condoms insteadI wonder if it feels different without... (sorry f I shock anyone, if I do, I apologise).
Regarding the baby stuff: apart from the whole wardrobe my mum will buy (and I swear I'm not even asking for it, she just can't wait!!!!!), I won't mind having second hand stuff. I would like to try to use disposable nappies, at least when I'm not working, and I saw a lot for sale on ebay. Is a buggy like a pushchair for small babies? I wouldn't mind having that second hand either but I will steam clean it to death before!!!
And I hope I won't make you scream, but my dream is to find an old wooden cot and restore it to its former gloryI even already picked out the organic VOC free paint I would use :rotfl: (by the way, if you want advice on eco friendly paints for the nursery, I'm your woman!!!)
Mmmmh, I am thinking a lot about babies at the moment, I must be close to ovulating and my hormones are taking over!!! It's amazing how this instinct is hard to suppress!!!
Regarding the shoes and the car seat, I will of course do hours of research online LOL The shoes because when they learn to walk, it's very important, and the car seat, well, it's obvious!!!
I just love love love this threadI'm so glad I can share my fears and hopes with similar minded ladies

The standard answer is 6-12 months off the pill for cycles to return to 'normal'. But of course its different for everyone, I finished the pill in Apr/May and was pregnant by end of June, but I count myself very lucky and am grateful for that.
think i may come off the pill and get OH to use comdoms untill we start trying .... that way my body hopefully would have regulated itself by the time we're TTC :undecided ... will have a think about it... my AF has been everywhere since coming off the injection and going on the pill ... i only had one jab!! and alot more painful and heavier too ...sorry TMI ... ohhh i dont know what to do now ..
