  • Bride2be - good luck with the job situation! I've been fed up in my job for a while (although recently things have improved quite a bit) so I've applied for something new too...it's less money but would mean going back to doing something I enjoy and feel good about so my partner has been supportive. It's also in a really nice area where we could afford a family home so fingers crossed!
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!
  • Thank you, good luck with your job too! I was quite happy in my old job, but was made redundant end of March, so have been temping and doing bits and pieces since then. One of my current part time jobs is due to end in 4 weeks, still to find out if that'll be extended, and the other is hopefully going to become permanent. Although I'm glad to have a job, and I'm enjoying the work, neither of them are very secure, don't pay particularly well and aren't really what I want to be doing the rest of my life! We are looking at moving too, property where we are is ridiculous. Tuesday's interview offers potential for relocation, as do the two I have applications in for, so fingers crossed!

Aw, all this talk of jobs makes me miss mine :( We have to relocate for my husband's career, which means we can finally buy a house.

But it also means that I had to decline a job offer from my ex-employer who really wanted to keep me (I was doing maternity cover). And now I worry I'll never find as good a job with nice colleagues again :o

I think that's partly why I am afraid of getting pregnant: what if I can't find a job after? (as you can see, I am a very anxious person, so I like when things are planned :o )

On the topic of contraceptive: when I stopped the pill years ago (I stopped for medical reasons), my periods came back pretty normal, except they weren't nearly as erratic as before... But every woman is different. Now we just use condoms. I know it's not as efficient as the pill but if an "accident" happens then so be it, it'll be a happy one :rotfl:

Sometimes it's better to be in a job a little bit less paid but that you enjoy! In my field, high paid jobs means I would have to drastically reduce my teaching hours, which I don't want to do because I actually do enjoy spending time in the classroom. My OH, however, is very career driven but, like yours, very supportive :)

And just imagine if you could have a dream job, a nice house and a little bundle of joy to boot :)
