  • andthethreebears - that sounds like an interesting book. What are your favourite tips from it so far? What's the book called?

Wow sorry for the slow reply, missed your post when the thread fell of the front page!
It was called 'what to expect before you're expecting' - after finishing it I wouldnt recommend it. If you've read anything at all about TTC most of the hints/tips are obvious - also a section on assisted conception / problems in conceiving which although interesting, just worried me!

I've ordered 'taking charge of your fertility' and a thermometer from Amazon - 245/250 positive reviews seemed reassuring!

I dont want Hubby to think I'm going nuts too soon - but 6months to figure out my cycles seemed sensible to me, especially as I have been on the pill / mirena and so haven't had real cycles for a loooong time!

Hope everyone is enjoying the lovely weather? Wear sunscreen! :D

    Hi,

long time lurker, thought it was time to post.

Me and the OH have finally decided that now debts are being cleared we can talk about having a family, but not for a little bit!

I have a long standing health condition, and have been advised to have children sooner rather than later by my consultant, so could you please add me to the lovely list on the front. We are looking around November 2012 onwards, probably closer to 2013, but its so nice to read the posts and you are all so supportive and lovely!

DomRavioli - welcome! It must be so exciting to have a target timescale and to be in a position to start counting down!

Andthethreebears - thanks for the feedback on the book, i won't waste my time with that one then! You'll have to let us know what you think of the one from amazon when it turns up.

I'm surrounded by babies and pregnant ladies at the moment...3 friends due between now and august, another just announced she's expecting and one has just given birth at 26 weeks (1lb 11oz, scary!). Loads of excuses for me to shop for baby things but everything I buy I want and excuse to keep for one of my own :o

It certainly is! Last Christmas my cousin had triplets at about 25 weeks....and they're all home and healthy now :) 10 years ago I don't think they would have had much chance. This new little (and I do mean little!) one seems to be doing as well as can be expected so far so I hope he keeps fighting x

    Hi All!

Long time, no chat! Sorry, been very busy with stuff.

    How are you all?

Welcome to the newbies! XD *waves*

Great results Browneyedbazzi! Very pleased for you.

Not much doing here atm. Awaiting AF, although I am already late at CD34 (my average cycle is 30 days, and my longest before this was 33 days). I had a few cramps on Monday morning (or Tuesday, I forget), but nothing since, other than sore boobs and irritability. I was going to hold off until Sat before doing the cheapie test I have at home, but I'm wondering if I should do it tomorrow morning (if AF hasn't showed before then)? My logic is, if it's positive, I need to see the doctor asap and have ectopic ruled out (as IUD is still in there!), and/or dealth with asap, and I can't see my GP on the weekend.

AF will probably show up tonight as I am out shopping with friends. I'm not actually going to buy much, but it is a special shopping night in my town. Shops open til midnight, entertainment, prizes to be won etc. Am going with an Irish girl and a Dutch girl. How very international! lol

What are you all up to?

Oo a baby related thread I can relate to :D were planning on starting to try for a baby soon...in September to give me time to come off the pill and for us to get a few other things sorted. Seems so long away though!!! Didn't realise I was so broody tbh, but it's snuck up on me and now there's no escaping! Thankfully hubby is just as eager too, just being sensible and trying to get some money saved before we even start trying. Glad it's not just us :)

Welcome Lozza! No, it's not just you! lol

We visited some friends at the weekend, who have a 6 month old son, so I spent most of Saturday cooing over the baby! lol. OH was a bit nervous about holding the baby, so I just plonked him on his lap, said 'you'll be fine' and went off to the loo. Sounds a bit harsh, but I think it helped his confidence to know that I wasn't worried, IYSWIM.

Such a lovely, happy baby too!

Hi everyone and welcome to the newbies.

Euro - do you still temp?

Nope. I gave it up as I found I was less obssessed/stressed when I didn't temp.

And this month, it wouldn't have helped to pinpoint ov, I don't think, as I was away twice (once was on, before, or during ov - not completely sure) and would've forgotten to temp (plus the timing would have changed), and recently with the water infection, I had a fever.

I should've temped this morning to see if it was still high though.

    How are you doing sweetie?
