    Hello and Welcome Gilly!

I thought broodiness went away when you had a baby but I guess you've proved me wrong!

    Debt-free and Proud!
Soooo broody atm! My little sister just had a boy (little man you see in the pic :j) now another of my sisters has announced her pregnancy! I really, really want to start trying, but I'm conscious of my debts and the stress relating to them so we're putting of TTC until we can at least see the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm guessing there are plenty of others in our position given how unemployment is atm.

    Hello,

Browneyedbazzi - I am sure you will find the right time to talk to OH, or like you said just say it when you are broody. I am going to see my sister's little one in a week so I will get broody again no doubt. I was wanting to go out at the weekend just gone and buy some baby clothes already haha!! I then reined myself in!!

I feel better since booking next week off and have decided to do some stuff round the house, e.g. make the spare room more like a bedroom and sort out some more wedding stuff. I am thinking of seeing if I can go down to 4 days at work but read online about flexible working and it only applies if you have children under 6 to look after. It is so hard to know what is the right thing to do sometimes.

I have tried zantac and many other indigestion tablets served over the counter but they don't touch the sides, only just got rid of it after three days.

Have a good day all x

Amy - welcome! This is the thread to be on if you're broody and not in a position to do anything about it lol

blondy - I don't resist the urge to run out and buy baby things, but when I buy them they have to go as gifts for friends' babies at the moment (otherwise my partner would think I'm insane). I bought an absolutely gorgeous little dress for my friend's 2 y/o the other day and can't wait to see her :)

Your plan for your week off sounds like a good one. I've been thinking about reducing my time at work too - a lot of policies talk about flexible working for parents of young children but that doesn't necessarily mean you can't apply for it if you don't have any. Some employers would be glad to save a bit of money at the moment so would consider a request from others as well. You could always ask to see how your employer feels about it?

Hope everyone is having a good day x

    ...tiptoes in.....

So....I've not been on here for ages, mostly as my April '12 start TTC date has been definitely pushed back to around May 13. I am having to stamp very very hard on some major broodiness, but I know waiting is the right decision. The thought of doing the whole am I/aren't I/why aren't I thing right now is a bit too much.

Big wave to everyone - am I the only mentalist here or has anyone else been looking at baby clothes??!

Hello! No, you're not the only one by any stretch. I look at baby stuff all the time while pretending like I'm looking at things for friends' babies lol. There's a bag of baby stuff in my spare room that we bought for some friends who had a little one last October but since they had the baby we haven't seen them (we have tried to arrange things but I think they're in their own little world so it hasn't happened)...their little one will be too big for it now so it may end up just staying here until we have a need for it :o

Hello and happy friday everyone :j

I hope you've all had a good week. Although it started pretty badly for me it's ending on a bit of a better note. I went for a scan yesterday and although the radiologist wasn't allowed to say much because she didn't know the results of bloods etc, she did say she 'didn't see anything for me to worry about' which has made me feel so much better! I had been quite pessimistic about it all but now I feel pretty sure that when I go to the doctor next week I'll get the all clear (everything I've read said that by my age PKD would be really obvious on a scan and a clean scan would be enough to rule it out). Two days ago I felt like my whole life and future plans were about to fall apart and be turned upside down and now I feel like I have it back :)

    Good news browneyedbazzi.

From experience, if there was a significant problem with your bloods you would have been called about it by now. My OH had a routine blood test in 2010 and was telephoned hours later and told to go straight to hospital as he has kidney failure! He is now a few weeks post-transplant, and so if you ever need any kidney-disease related sympathy/advice then feel free to PM.

Hopefully its nothing that will stop you TTC :D

Findingmyownway - thank you for the message. I wasn't having tests due to any current problems but the doctor recommend I have the tests because my dad was diagnosed with a genetic disease that meant I had a 50% of having it...and if i had it then my children would have a 50% chance as well and I would have to think pretty carefully about if I should have any and risk making them sick. I'm really optimistic now that I don't have the bad gene so there won't be a need to change plans :)
