    Morning ladies

On holiday next week :j couldn't come sooner if I'm honest. This week I've had my visit from AF and I'm starting to get concerned about how ill they make me. For the past few times I've had migraines, sickness and diarrhea, been exhausted ( I've went to bed 8pm Tuesday night, 9pm last night ), horrendous stabbing pains in my back passage ( sorry there's no nice way of putting that! ) and awful cramps. I done a quick google search and the symptoms seem to point to endometriosis which is worrying. I think I'm going to make an appointment with my doctor when I get back from my holidays about it, though from what I've read if it is endometriosis there's nothing they can do about it.

Your symptoms sound very much like mine (particularly the stabbing pain in the back passage - so strange!) and I've been told by a doctor that I could have endometriosis but as there is no cure and the only definite way to diagnose it is through surgery, there's not a huge amount of point investigating further - so I'm on the pill and I run packs together so I only have three periods a year.

The main thing I'm worried about if I do have it is the risk of infertility. But a friend at work who is 39 and has severe endometriosis just had a baby...so that proves it is possible!

Hope you have an AMAZING holiday and try not to worry about this!

Good morning and happy Friday ladies :j

chocoholic chick - I hope you're feeling better! You definitely deserve that holiday so I hope you really enjoy it. Are you off to somewhere nice?

I'm glad it's friday and that the long weekends is almost here. Sadly I have to go for blood tests today and I'm still feeling pretty stressed about the whole situation. I've always believed that you shouldn't stress about things that haven't happened yet and there's plenty of time to worry once it does, but I can't seem to turn it off!

Yet another friend has announced she's expecting...I'm really happy for her but it isn't helping with the feeling sorry for myself situation!

Thanks Laura, I've resolved to apply for the job and I think I have a really good chance at it. Things have changed again for me because I had a message from my parents this morning saying that my dad has something called PKD which is genetic. I need to get tested to see if I have the gene - if I do then I'll need to seriously think about whether or not to have kids of my own and risk passing it to them.

I'm a bit upset about it all but in a way it reinforces that I need to sort the job issue out. Work will always be part of life but it seems that kids may not be on the cards for me. :(

Im sure someone I used to be at school with had PKD, I remember when we were in year 7 she tried to teach us how to say the full name of it lol. She had to drink this like white syrupy stuff in one of those plastic medicine cups each day at school, and as far as Im aware it didnt seem to effect her if she did that? Sorry I know thats not very helpful but just thought Id share it! Im friends with her on facebook and shes always up to lots of stuff, no kids yet but who knows?!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone :D

Chocoholic, no wonder you're stressed if you're working 10 - 12 hour days and then studying in the evenings. You must be a machine! How much longer will you be studying? Hope the exam went well today :)

All this talk of migraines....I'm a sufferer but I'm still on the pill...not sure how that has worked, lax doctors? I love being on the pill and would hate to be told I couldn't be on it. I also don't like the idea of a coil at all...

And now be honest girls, after reading ticklepenny's post how many of you immediately started doing pelvic floor squeezes whilst sitting at the computer? I know I did! :)

Doesnt your doc ask you if youve had any migraines or headaches each time you go back to get a new prescription? Every doc I saw whilst I was on the pill did.

I did some research on it before, as I started to get a couple of bad headaches in the year before I came off the pill, but it seemed that the main concern from what I could tell by googling is that you definitely shouldnt be on the pill if you had migraines that have an aura and thats when they usually suggest the mini pill. Maybe talk to your doc the next time you see them and see what they think?

Thank you claire -there are apparently treatments available to prevent the disease from developing if you know a child has the gene early on. That plus knowing that my dad doesn't have the worst kind(there are 3 types) is making me think that me having it wouldn't necessarily rule out having a baby. I have just over a week for the renal function tests to come back - if they're normal I may still have PDK but it means I'm healthy for now and it may be time to stop waiting on the baby front!

  • We have a plan! Aiming for September 2013 baby :D
I would have loved a spring/summer baby but Hubby thinks sept will be the best time - far enough away from Christmas, a few months away from our birthdays and head of its year in school.
I read an interesting article about choosing the right time to conceive but to be honest as long as baby is healthy / happy I don't mind when he decides to show up!
Might be starting my penultimate pack of pills on Monday - should probably try going au naturel after that I guess?! Can't believe I'm looking forward to the horrendous skin / cramps / totm!!
I've been on the pill since I was 18 - let's hope my body remembers what to do!
Hope everyone is enjoying the bank holiday weekend - plenty of wine and frivolity all round!

I know what you mean, but like you say, as long as it's happy and healthy, thats the important thing. Very broody today after playing with two of my nephews and my cousins daughter, it's driving me insane!
With regards to coming off the pill, I thought exactly the same, but (touch wood!) it's been ok so far. I had some horrible headaches for the first week or so, but my skin is actually better and I actually feel better too.
Hope you are all having a lovely bank holiday :j

Good morning ladies! I love that I've just had a sunday lie in but there's no work tomorrow to be dreading. Looking forward to a relaxing day with my partner today after a busy one hosting all the family for the FA cup final yesterday. Hopefully get an opportunity to talk about future plans as I'd really like to come off evra and start TTC if my blood tests come back ok.

andthethreebears - very exciting! I suppose that means you'll be having a very *busy* Christmas and New Year this year ;)

    Evening All,

Hope you have had a nice long weekend. You managed to have your chat with OH browneyedbazzi?

Weekend has been a bit up and down for me having a rough time at the mo with indigestion and also work situ. Have decided to take a week off as holiday next week to sort out what I want as making me unhappy and quite upset.

It is hard as can't afford for me to take a pay cut at the mo with saving for wedding early next year....oh well.

blondy - Nope, I chickened out again! I will do it at some point but I want to pick the right moment and this weekend really didn't seem to present any. Weekend after next we're visiting a group of friends, two of which have babies, so if the subject hasn't come up before hand I'm sure it will then (because I will struggle to hide the broodiness!).

I hope your week off is good and that it helps. I get indigestion when I'm stressy and now constantly carry around ranitidine tablets lol

Hope everyone is having a good start to the week x

I suppose I could come and join you here! My little boy is almost 15 weeks and I can't wait to start trying. We didn't try to conceive him, so I've never done it before :o

My OH is graduating in a few months and its all depending on if he can get a graduate/better job really.

    Hope everyone is well :D
