Ooh thats what I meant to say Cerazette is evil! I was on that for migraines so when I came off it after I found out I was pregnant with DD I was so surprised to find I had a libido! I tried goin back on it after DD but it was horrible. Copper coil was much better for me. I know its not for everyone but its worth a try. It was a bit uncomfortable fitting it but soon after I had completely forgotten about it (other than to wind OH up as he is grossed out by the thought of it hehe). xDS1 arrived 22/02/11! 8lb3oz

hi there seems to be a bit of a pattern with cerazette! Just wondered, are your migraines any better or worse off it? It's the fitting bit that worries me a bit. Hehe i don't think i would be able to tell my OH he'd be grossed out too :rotfl: x0 -
The coil really isn't that bad Confused76. It's a lot smaller than you imagine, it gets inserted (and you can't see what they're doing), and then that's it. When you want it out, it just pulls out (by the doctor though).
It is a little painful having it inserted, and cramps for a day or so afterwards, but it's not too bad. After that, I found the first few periods a little more painful than usual, but after that it has been fine. I can't feel it unless I'm actually rooting around for it, so it's not like I feel it as I move or anything.
However, some women do experience very heavy, and very painful periods with it that don't seem to settle down for them. So, if you're interested, I think you should discuss it with your GP, and get them to go through it with youFebruary wins: Theatre tickets0 -
I also came off the pill due to migraines. Since I came off it last January (2011), I've only had 2 or 3 migraines. On the pill, I was having 2 or 3 a week!February wins: Theatre tickets0

Hi ladies, I'm not sure if I qualify to join you or not!
I'm only 24 but have always been desperate to have children - am not really career-minded and my main ambition since being a little girl has been to be a mum and housewife! My OH is quite a bit older than me, in his late thirties, and already has a teenaged daughter but he wants children with me as much as I want them.
We are getting married next April and I'm soooo excited because it will mean we're able to start having babies (personally I wouldn't want to have children unmarried) !! I know I'm only young and there's no huge rush but I don't want OH to be in his mid forties before we have our first, and I just want them!
He gets slightly worried when I talk about coming off the pill etc as soon as we're married......but then in the next breath he will say that he wants to have a baby a year after we get married. I don't think his silly man brain realises that if he wants a baby to arrive a year after we're married, I probably do need to come off the pill as soon as we get married! He has never TTC before as his daughter was an accident when he was quite young.
So am I allowed to be here when I still have a year to wait before starting to TTC? I think there are things I need to be doing in the meantime - losing weight is a big one and generally getting more healthy - and I'm wondering about coming off the pill even before getting married and using condoms - I have been on the pill for 12 years as I went on it when I was 12 due to incredibly bad periods....so I wonder if it will take me ages to start ovulating again! :S
Anyway sorry for the long rambling message. I'm just quite excited that my dream of having a baby could finally be in sight in the not TOO distant future!0 -
Evening ladies
daisiegg - Of course you can join! I'm not planning on TTC until the end of the year at the earliest. It's just nice to have somewhere to chat about babies
What a tiring few weeks I've had, off on my holidays soon and boy do I need it! Went to see my counsellor on Friday ( long story ) and she had a few home truths for me, one of which was unless something changes with my work situation the stress will mean that when I come to TTC I'll find it more difficult. Was completely down that day, I'm so busy and stressed with work and I just feel my boss takes advantage of me at times, but at the end of the day it's a job and it pays fairly well and I know I should be grateful that I've got work. Just sometimes its hard to see that when I'm working for 10 - 12 hours then having to come home and study for my exams
Got an exam tomorrow and I thought I'd be ok but now I'm beginning to doubt myself, I asked DH to test me on a few things and my mind just went blank and I couldn't remember anything, despite spending the last few weeks and about 12 hours over the weekend revising.
To top things off found out a work colleague is pregnant today and I think because of my general mood lately I almost resented her which I know is awful.

Thanks for everyones comments about Cerezette, now I know it is definitely that and not me!!
The coil makes me squeamish too! Its not even just the fitting, don't you have to check it yourself periodically? Don't think I fancy that
I was considering going on the pill (i've never been on it) but I've been quite headachey recently and had a migraine yesterday so not so sure it's a good idea now.
Not managed to make an appointment yet but should be able to tomorrow, just going to have to talk it through with the doc and see what they think. Will let you know how I get on!

Hi daisiegg! We're all here because we're not ready to TTC yet whether it be finances, wanting to be healthier, waiting to get married etc so you'll fit right in!
I don't even have a clue when we'll be TTC, I've just got my job sorted, now I need to persuade the OH to pop the question so we can start planning a wedding, then there's a house to buy and oh I may aswell lose some weight along the way :rotfl:chocoholic_chick wrote: »Evening ladies

Chocoholic is there no way you can look for a new job? I know how you feel because I was stuck in a job I hate with a rubbish manager, it took me nearly 5 months of looking but I got out eventually and now I'm much happier in my new job.
If you're stressed and preoccupied with your job it's no wonder you're struggling to study!

After a lot of faff with blood tests to track hormone levels, as well as food and activity diaries the Dr decided my Migraines were falling within the peak of my cycle but triggered by certain drink stuffs mainly caffeine, and drinks from concentratesso by avoiding as many triggers as possible I went down to only having between 10-15 migraines a year which just carried on whilst taking cerazette. With DD I fell pregnant on Cerazette (being over weight makes it less effective so I found out 10 years after starting it lol) but since being pregnant with DD my hormone levels have balanced out to the point that I rarely have migraines and AF is far more regular. I was just a bit of a mystery to my GP as my hormones were following a cycle but AF wasnt
But he decided that was why I was having the migraines in the first place.
So basically to sum up my waffle I dont really know what I would have been like off the cerazette before DD as I took it all the way up till I found out I was pregnant. Since DD I have been loads better, then since DS even better. They seem to have re-balanced my hormone levels
I hope you ladies dont mind but thought I might share a few things I wish I had during and prior to having my little ones:
Lose weight (I havent had much time to since mine arrived)
Pelvic floor excercises and Yoga!! I did these occasionally before but wish I had done them more.
Not fixated myself so much on a birth plan and BFing. babies have the final say on how they arrive (both of mine were awkward breech so I didnt get the "natural" birth I was hoping for but they arrived safely by Csection).
Will stop waffling now and go to bed, hoping that littlies dont want to get up at 4am again
