    Hi everyone!

DH and I have been married for 6 months and were originally planning on waiting 3ish years before TTC. We are moving in June to the other end of the country and will be renting at first but hoping to start looking for houses to buy quite soon.

After lots of consideration we have decided that after Christmas we are going to seriously consider starting to TTC. I am scared and excited, but mainly excited!! Hoping to devote lots of time between now and then to trying to get as fit as possible in preparation, currently overweight so need to get into shape!

    Welcome!

Congratulations on your recent wedding too! And I hope the move goes smoothly (well, as smoothly as a move can go!).

TTC is exciting! I can't wait to get there myself! Do you have much weight to lose, and do you have a plan to tackle it? We've had quite a few members who've lost weight pre-TTC and during TTC, so I say 'go for it!'. :D

    Hi all,
Bit of a lurker here, sorry! Been reading all your posts and you are all so organised, I'm very impressed / jealous!
Been married 6 months now (together for 7) and some days we want to crack on with it, some days we want to wait a bit longer and some days (usually when we want a lie in and a day to ourselves) we want to stay as we are. I've just come off the pill after 7 years, so think my hormones are everywhere at the moment, which doesn't help. And, I'm 32 next week, so worried about leaving it late and then taking forever to get pregnant. We know we do want kids, but not sure when, but then we had some advice that there is never a perfect time to do it so just get on with it! So confused, please tell me this is normal, lol.

  • To be honest, DH & I are currently TTC and I'm still scared & confused about whether it's the right thing to do! I worry about it taking a long time and I'm sure I'll be scared $hitless when (if) I do get those two lines.

We were talking about it last night and OH said that he was worried that we didn't seem like other couples who are baby mad and really really want kids. Don't get me wrong, we are 100% certain that we want them and think we would make good parents, but we just aren't over the top about it. I can't explain what I mean but I know what I mean! You know those annoying people that just love children, and they are the be all and end all, and motherhood is the most magical amazing thing ever? I'm sure it is, I'm just not going to go over the top and bore everyone else to death with it. I like my brothers opinion, he loves his kids to bits and is a fantastic dad, but admits that he really can't stand most other peoples children!
  • Hello

Thanks for the good wishes. OH's transplant went well thanks. Recovery will take about 3 months but he is already home and feeling better than before (apart from the massive wound across his stomach of course!)

Anyhow, I have stopped taking the pill! Feels like a big deal but its not like we're actually TTC yet. Mainly because there isn't much chance of doing 'anything' in the near future if you know what I mean! But I just want to get it out of my system then when we do want to TTC I'll have a better idea of what the situation is. Does that make sense?

What's fertility friend? And how do you take your temperature? I might start paying attention to my cycles and see where we go from there.

I think thats totally normal! Baby-mad couples generally seem boring to anyone except those who are equally baby mad anyway. Plus keeping some perspective on life makes you a better parent I think. I want a child to be an addition to my life, not suddenly start a whole new life and make new friends etc.

Thank you! I would ideally like to lose about a stone and a half, just generally want to be fitter and healthier before I get pregnant, no better excuse I suppose lol. Now all the easter eggs have been scoffed I am going to try and concentrate more on healthy eating. Already take our dog for a good long walk every day so probably just need to step up the pace, try to do a bit of other exercise aswell and eat healthily (Easier said than done I am sure lol).
