Those who are waiting to TTC

I can understand your concerns walby - in my mind I'd always be going over the "what if" scenarios - what if his private work dries up? what happens after February? etc.... I'm not trying to put you off, I'm just pointing out that your concerns aren't irrational and shouldn't be interpreted as you having cold feet. Have another chat with DH to go over the what ifs and see where that takes you.
Mrs Toast I'm still pretty upset today actually. I know it sounds petty having a fight with a friend when I'm approaching 30 but I'm not backing down. This is going to sound soooo trivial but (remember I'm supposedly her best friend) she stopped following me on twitter yesterday morning. She normally contacts me either by facebook messaging, text, email or tweet EVERY day. Nothing. I know she's waiting for an apology but my final word to her was "I'm not apologising" so she'll have a very long wait. The irony is that the argument is vaguely TTC related!Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -
Well, I feel a bit in limbo land at the moment. For those who don't know, DH and I got married in May last year. The original plan was to wait until our one year anniversary and then discuss it (the only reason for waiting was financial but we both really wanted children asap).
Your 1 year anniversary is my wedding day
Hello :hello:.
I would like to TTC after the wedding but my OH wants to wait a couple of years as he still wants some freedom. I would like to start earlier as I have a couple of medical problems that affect pregnancy and may get worse the older I am.
So I hope to join this thread in a few months but it will probably be in 2014. Which seemed very far away a couple of months ago but now we are in 2012, it doesn't seem so far...0 -
I've now signed up to FF and will be tracking my temperatures once my BBT arrives. Slightly pointless until the implant comes out, but hoping it'll help me form a habit!Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0

Hi Walby - sorry to hear about your husband, I'd echo what others have said there is always the danger that something else could go wrong in the future and if you really want to have a baby then GFI as there is never a time that will be exactly right. Things work out - when I got preg with first (unplanned) I was in a temporary role and my OH wasn't working at all- he managed to get a job though and then my role was made permanent. But it couldn't have been more the wrong time to get preg, if we'd been planning it we would have put it off longe for sure, although it all worked out in the end because it had to.
I've decided to come off my coil in May to start trying for no. 2. I have heard it can take a few months for your period to come back (thanks for the advice on this post) so gonna come off it in may to give me three months to get my periods back and then start trying again in August.0 -
Olokia, we are wedding day buddies (seperated by a year!).
Re: stopping contraception. I stopped taking the pill (have been on it for 10 years) beginning of October and still have 7 week cycles, although according to my BBT it looks like this one might be 5 weeks but I am not convinced. Other people don't seem to have any problems though.
Thanks to COMP and ani for your responses - I think that I am having an argument with myself over it (sounds wierd I know!) which goes along the lines of "DH doesn't have a permenant job so would be stupid to TTC. But financially we are ok for at the next six months. But if we waited 6 months we would be in an even better financial position. But that would always be the case and if I wait for the perfect financial position I will be too old to have babies, so just GFI. But DH doesn't have a permenant job...." and round in circles I go, lol. Have tried to ask DH since is he sure we should wait a little while and he is adamant he wants to start a family asap...

Hello,
Can you put me back to April 2013
We have put back our wedding date till January 2013 now as couldn't get a date easy this year unless they were about £15k for venue alone!!!
So we are going to try when we go on our belated honeymoon in April/May next year so will be about four months for my body to get back to normal after coming off my pill in Jan next year. Wish it could be earlier but know this is the right decision.

Have planned a chat with DH for tonight - I'm not sure if I should say "wish me luck" or if I'm being completely stupid.
Basically, I'm about to ask HIM when I should have the implant out. When I got married, my BMI was just over 30. It's now 26. We're discussing tonight whether the implant should come out when it gets below 25 or when I get to my goal weight. Only I haven't decided what I want my goal weight to be.
The crux of it is I'm either 6.5lb, 11.5lb or 18.5lb away from having the implant out. Eek!!!Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -
So I need a serious kick up the bum on my weight loss. Hubby turned to me today and said "please can you start exercising again... you need to be much healthier so when we do start TTC we have everything on our side".
I know he meant it in a nice way but now feel like the Incredible Hulk. Our diet isn't too awful as we're focusing mostly on lean protein, veg, fruit and healthy dairy (plain yog etc). Just need to stop "rewarding" ourselves quite so much...Problem is between work and my degree I'm struggling - so much more tempting when I get downtime to snuggle in front of a film with a glass of wine.
But - I want to have my own little poop machine! So I am going to force myself to get exercise in. Am convincing myself that once I start doing it regularly I will have more energy anyway....That happens, right?"No society can surely be flourishing and happy of which by far the greater part of the numbers are poor and miserable"Adam Smith6/300 -

Hi clearing_out_my_pockets. It's not petty having an argument especially as you're the same age as me :rotfl:. I had an argument with my best friend when I was planning our wedding and in the past I had always said sorry even when it wasn't my fault for peace. I finally stuck to my guns and realised if she didn't know she needed to apologise to her best friend then I was better off without her. Thankfully we are a lot wiser and are now friends on facebook especially once she lost her first baby.:(. Hope you sort things out whichever way it's supposed to be :grouphug
The implant is coming out on 21st February :T. Rang the clinic and said I wanted it out. The lady asked why and I said because DH and I wanted to try for another child and she said fair enought:rotfl:. Morning all,
I hope we are all having a good weekend. I am sitting here waiting for painkillers to kick in as my shoulder is so stiff it is painful to even move it - not great as I have the entire flat to clean and I need to go shopping!
Blondy, the date will come round before you know it as you will be so busy wedding planning. Are you planning a big wedding? I will probably ask you lots of questions as I love weddings!
COMP, how did the chat with DH go? Have you decided how much you need to lose to have the implant out? Will you be TTC straight away? I am excited for you!
Kalama, I am with you on needing a kick up them bum to lose weight. I think my main problem is that I dish myself up the same size dinner as DH when I should probably have three-quarters of what he has.
Woohoo MrsToast! So exciting! How long will you wait after implant is out to start TTC?
Well, I have been thinking and have taken the cowards route... It is too late this cycle to change anything as I ov'd a few days ago and we hae already said we are not TTC next cycle as it would mean being due just before Xmas (and knowing my luck baby would be late and arrive on Xmas day!). Taking all that into account and the fact I can't get pg in the first 30 days of my cycle (ov around day 35-36 usually) I don't actually have the chance to TTC until the end of April anyway, giving us three months to see what is happening with DH and work. Became Mrs W in 2011:smileyhea Blessed with Baby boy 1 in 2013, Baby boy 2 in 2016 and Baby boy 3 in 2018 :smileyheaDebt @ 19/8/11 [STRIKE]£20,060 [/STRIKE] current £0Paid off 100% :dance:0
