Morning everyone. Having a lovely day today as DH has given me another lie in & he's doing DIY so I just have to look after DS. Might do some baking with him in a bit.Woohoo MrsToast! So exciting! How long will you wait after implant is out to start TTC?
walby1993, it would be nice to start straight away but would like to pay attention to what my cycle does. If the mood takes us though :rotfl:. Had a call from DSis last night, she's just found out she's expecting number 2 and she wasn't even trying. Am really happy for her but at the same time bit disappointed which makes me sound awful. She's just booked her wedding for October which is gonna have to be moved now. Her OH is in a wheelchair and does nothing and she has to work but she has fibro milalga?? so don't know how she's gonna cope but hey ho. I'm a good big sis honest:DTOTAL DEBT £12,212.46/£2000 paid offDebt Free Goal September 2017#106 Emergency Fund £482.53/£10000 -
Well.... I am 6lb away from making an appointment to have my implant out. How's that for an incentive to stick to the diet?????Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0

Congrats clearing_out_my_pockets, it's so exciting. Trying to lose weight is difficult at times but when you have an incentive it's so much easier. I joined WW after I had DS with a friend and now I help run the meeting as I am at goal weight. Wait till I get pregnant though and I won't be able to stop eating :rotfl:TOTAL DEBT £12,212.46/£2000 paid offDebt Free Goal September 2017#106 Emergency Fund £482.53/£10000

a couple of light beers have made me brave enough to post...
hi all, i've been following this thread for ages now, but a bit of dutch courage was required before i could out myself as 'wtt'!
i like to be called 'attb', but as of october 2013 onwards i hope to be called 'mum'!
why oct 2013? well that should be the date when we can afford for me to be a SAHM. we both currently work full time (and i am studying) to try and make a hole in our crazy mortgage and get all the 'big spends' we want done before baby/babies come along.
i cry at one born every minute and my heart breaks a little every time i see a baby - but i know we're waiting for the right reasons and as they say 'all the best things come to those who wait'!
it'll be nice to know you all :grouphug:0 -
How things change....
In September I was all set to come off the pill and begin TTC in January 2012. In late October, I came off the pill. I have not had a period since and feel a bit blue about how long its taking for my body to get back to normal.
Meanwhile, my boss quit in December and the opportunity has come up for me to go for her job (and I think I could get it). I have also spotted a similar role in a new organisation closer to home. I do a specialised job for a charity so these jobs don't come up often. Should I get the new job, that will put TTC back to whenever maternity benefits can start... but probably worth it to be in a better position at work, am a bit miserable where I am.
Sorry to log on for a moan but its a tricky one to talk about with friends...
So the next few weeks will bring some big decisions. Off to my first interview tomorrow! Yikes! :eek:fran-o0 -

I had a similiar experience. My partner has had a vasectomy which will be getting reversed this year, so I went off the pill to give my body time to adjust. It took 5 months for my first period to arrive and I wasnt well for even longer. Aside from my skin going crazy with pimples, I had stomach cramps, muscle pain, fatigue etc. I did a bit of online research and its actually quite scary how normal all these symptoms are. It really made me wonder what the pill had been doing to my body!
So dont stress too much if its taking a little time. Its unfortunately very normal.0 -
Well after about 6 months on the TTC thread, Im now on this one! For good and bad reasons - Bad reason - I didnt get pg in those 6 months
BUT I had been on the pill for 10 years, and I did get about 6 periods in 7 months of being off it, so although my cycles have been really long and irregular they have at least come back.
good reason - Ive just got a new job, with a big pay increase, lower travel costs, and commute of 35 mins as opposed to 1.5 hours! So weve decided to put off TTC for a couple/few months.
However I now have the dilemma of what contraception to use for the next few months. Were also booking a holiday for 9 months time so there is no way I can get pg anytime soon now, as well as the new job situation.
But I dont want to go back on the pill as I want to see if my cycles settle down in the next few months. ive had really bad spots since coming off the pill, but the lovely ladies on the TTC thread have recommended some cream to me which Ive ordered.
Both of us hate condoms though. So it doesnt leave much else, apart from me temping and using opks, which ive got quite good at over the past 6 months, but because my cycles arent regular, it could leave a lot of room for error.
Dont think DH would be up for the idea of no sex for the next few months either lol!
Makes me sad to think we arent ttc anymore, but long term, both me and DH think its right to wait a few months. Just frustrating!0 -
Claire, what about something like a spermicide? No condoms, but no hormones either...? Or a diaphragm?
Good luck with the interviews fran-o"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
Hi All,
Sorry for being AWOL. Had the flu, and then been trying to catch up on work etc. OH had Shingles too, and then caught the flu from me. And yesterday, I pulled a muscle coughing which is just agony. Arghhhhhh!
I would just like to feel good for a week or two! AF is due any day now. On CD 30 atm, no cramps yet, but I've had a few 32 day cycles so I expect it will be here on or before Sunday.
No sore boobs again this month! Wahooo! Seems things are really settling down now, not too many spots now either
Claire - Copper IUD? Or female condom as BZ suggested? Although, I read the biggest problem with them is inserting them correctly.
You could always try Not Trying, Not Preventing (NTNP) and see what happens? Or just avoid your most fertile time?
COMP - Good news about getting the implant out. You've been doing so well with the weight loss, you'll reach that goal sooner than you think!
Also joining in on the weight loss. Too much stress, overindulgence, and lack of exercise has packed the lbs on and increased my dress size. So, it's time to get it under control, starting this week.
A huge welcome to all our newbies! *waves*

Thanks I will look into those. Im not sure I could do the inserting thing with the diaphragm and might be worried I had done it wrong but spermicide could be ok. I hadnt even thought of that so thanks.euronorris wrote: »Hi All,

Wow sounds like youd have a hell of a week! Hope you stop catching/pulling things soon!
Copper IUD would be a good one if I wasnt massively squeamish about those type of things!
So yes I think maybe spermicide and avoiding most fertile time using temping and opks could be good for now. Then in maybe 3-4 months move onto NTNP for a couple of months as with my long cycles its unlikely anyway.
Weirdly my spots have really cleared up this week, very odd. I hadnt even had a chance to use the cream the ladies on the ttc board recommend even though it had arrived in the post. So no spots to test it on! :rotfl:0
