Those who are waiting to TTC

you're most welcome
It just occurred to me cos I was thinking "hmmm, what you really need is something to just kill off the little swimmers, rather than a barrier, that'd be good...oh wait! That exists!" :rotfl: I don't know about you, but my spots appear and disappear with the cycle of hormones, so I tend to get them around ov and af, maybe it's the same for you?
Hope you're both feeling better now euro"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
Hi all. now I know that we are gonna try for another one later this year, I kind of want to get started straight away. But only agreed with hubby recently that we will definitely try for anothe one later this year, so don't wanna push it. I'm the kind of person though who once they've made their mind up about something wants to go for it!
Although my little one is just coming up to one, I keep thinking that I don't want to leave too big a gap, and I have no idea how long it will take to get pregnant. Last time it happened completely by accident, so sods law this time around we'll wait a while. Or maybe I'm very fertile - who knows?. My mum conceived my brother on honeymoon (this was in the 60s I'm assuming they weren't trying before the marriage!) but then took a couple of years to fall pregnant with my other brother. And she was much younger than me - 25 as opposed to 35.
I'm thinking of getting the mirena coil taken out in April, as it'll have been in a year by then, and if hubby agrees just doing not trying not preventing for a while. It may take a few months for my periods to get back to normal anyway. If nothing's happened by the summer then we'd get going with a more active approach.
I have to say, although I wouldn't want to get pregnant accidentally again, the beauty of it was that the decision was made for us and we didn't have to go through the hassle of trying for months.0 -

:rotfl:I guess I had never thought of it before as id always been on the pilll??
My spots most definitely get worse around ov, but it seems like theyve just been like bad permanently, but REALLY bad around ov! And hardly any let up inbetween even with my deranged cycles.
The only thing Ive changed doing is started using these neutrogena spot cleasing wipes. which smell like the strong spot fighting stuff you used to use as a teenager.
And Ive changed my moisturiser to one thats slightly different but still the same brand.
So I dont know if its either of those or just a coincidence. As I was convinced no skincare stuff would help as the spots are hormonal - so I need something to prevent them in the first place rather than just fighting them once theyre there if you see what I mean.
And bizarrely I think I might be ov soon. so quite strange. But wont know for a few days until Ive taken my temp a few more times.0 -
Could also be that they're settling down along with your cycles claire. Mine were pretty bad (i was getting them on my face, neck, back, scalp, everywhere, it was horrid) in the first few months off the pill and only started to settle down more the more my cycle settled. I now get the odd one or two, just on my face, around ov usually. Hth. Oh and I use sudacrem on mine; cheap and effective
glad they're starting to clear up for you though:D

Yeah it could well be. Which is another reason not to go back on the pill - incase it happens again when i next came off it!!
Ive put a ban on BDing until after I ov this cycle, as cant risk getting pg now, as well as the new job, weve booked flights for our hol, in Oct. But DH was asking last night, how old does a baby have to be, before they can fly? Why not just risk it? I was like we are NOT bding!! lol He told me to hurry up and ov - I said I wish i could control it like that! honestly men!0 -
Hi lovely ladies, hope everyone is wrapped up warm today. I have just over 2 weeks until I get my implant out :j should I be so excited about having a doctor poke me with a needle lol.
Bought some pregnacare type pills this morning, just the supermarket own but was wondering when should I be taking them. I took folic acid from when we started TTC last time so should I wait for 21st Feb or maybe a week before?? Apparently you can be very fertile after having the implant out so would like to take advantage :rotfl:TOTAL DEBT £12,212.46/£2000 paid offDebt Free Goal September 2017#106 Emergency Fund £482.53/£10000 -
Mrs toast, in an ideal world you would take folic acid for 3 months before you begin ttc. Well actually, in an ideal world, all women of a fertile age would take folic acid daily -according to the guidance I read, so the sooner the better for that. They also reckon it can take vitamin supplements 3 months to make/see the difference, so it's up to you really"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0

I had the most amazing conversation with my other half last night and just had to share.
Without any prompting from me, he just brought up the topic and said he knew I wanted kids, he was happy about it and he'd get a vasectomy reversal done. And if that doesnt work, we'll do ivf.
I was astounded but I'm thrilled. I kinda of knew thats where things were at but to hear him say it so explicitly was just awesome. :j
So now I'm researching VR doctors.
And maybe I'm getting ahead of myself a bit but I'm focusing on getting myself super fit too.
I know a few ppl on here post about losing weight before ttc. I dont need to lose weight but I do want to learn all I can about preparing my body for pregnancy, whenever it should happen. maybe I'm vain but I am scared of gaining loads of weight, of stretch marks and never having a flat stomach again. Does anyone know of a guide to getting fit pre-pregnancy?0 -

I dont think theres anything specific for ttc, than what you would do normally in terms of being fit and healthy. My DH is a personal trainer and hes currently doing a pre and post natal course but I dont think hes ever done much involving women who are ttc and not pg yet. And he hasnt told me to do anything.
Re stretch marks, I think theyre more down to genes than anything else. Im a size 8 but Ive still got them on my hips when I grew as a teenager, yet my SIL is size 14, has had a baby and hardly has any and she has quite a big stomach. So Id probably get them irrelevant of any exercise I did. So yes I guess its a bit scary to think about stuff like that, especially as I have an addiction to buying new bikinis :rotfl:I dont really worry about gaining weight though as I find it near impossible to, I dont really like to think about the stretch marks though.0 -
Hello ladies, thanks for keeping me up to date with all your news.
So I failed my interview for a new job last week which was annoying. But it has made my mind up about staying in the current job and taking advantage of the good maternity
Also my first post-pill period arrived (over 3 months after my last pill!) and it was short and painless. So I think its about time to head to the next stage... Not Trying, not preventing, and perhaps getting more serious about trying once I've got my head round my cycles etc. Thanks for your support and sharing on this thread xfran-o0
