Those who are waiting to TTC

Hello ladies,
Well I had been trying to work up the courage to tell you all I had found out I was pg on 10/02. However, after some bleeding yesteday the hospital confirmed a mc. Naturally DH and I are in a bit of a state, but everyone has been really nice (work told me to take as long as I need). So now we are wttc. Just need to wait for first "real" period so probably will be May.

Oh no walby. Im so incredibly sorry to hear that. When I saw you had posted on here I assumed it was to say you had got pg! (which I had already read on the ttc page). I wasnt expecting to see that at all. Thats good your work has been ok about it, it would be awful to be worrying about that on top of what youre dealing with already.
Is there any medical reason you have to wait til you get your first period? Or is it just for dating pregnancy reasons?0 -
So sorry to hear that walby"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0

Thanks COMP, Claire and BigZippy. I feel better now than I did this morning but still quite up and down emotionally.
I don't think there is any medical reason to wait, other than for dating pregnancy but I think I want to wait anyway. I think the biggest challenge will be not getting scared that it will happen again. But as they say, time is a great healer and so with 7 week cycles I will have plenty of it before I can start TTC again, and if I am still not ready then we will just wait a little longer.
Sorry to bring the tone of the thread down. Congrats to BigZ and COMP on your weightlosses - you have both done amazingly well. Became Mrs W in 2011:smileyhea Blessed with Baby boy 1 in 2013, Baby boy 2 in 2016 and Baby boy 3 in 2018 :smileyheaDebt @ 19/8/11 [STRIKE]£20,060 [/STRIKE] current £0Paid off 100% :dance:0 -
At least then if you decide not to wait you dont have to - and likewise if youre not ready, then youre not ready and its good you arent putting any pressure on yourself.
Re - cycles, mine are ridiculously long too, never know how long theyre going to be. Its a pain isnt it?
Dont worry about bringing the tone down, the TTC thread has had a lot of losses the past few months, its definitely not always happy on there either - but thats life I guess? And atleast people can share their feelings on the boards and know theyre not alone. And likewise, sometimes there is great pma on there too and that can really cheer people up.0 -
No, not putting any pressure on. DH and I are still only 25 so its not as though we feel we need to hurry up and get on with it, which is good.
Yes, they are a pain. That's why I started the pill at 15 - at the time my cycles were 10 weeks long and I would start PMS about 4 weeks in and it would carry on and get worse for the next 6 weeks until my period did actually start so 7 weeks is an improvement! Not sure how the mc will affect my cycles though. That's why I was temping - not to try and make sure we BD on my ov day but just to give me a rough idea of when I could expect my period to start.
Yes, life can be pretty sh** at times and pretty great at others. I think the important thing is to be able to talk about your feelings without dwelling on it. That's what I have been trying to do the last couple of days and although I am not "fine" I am not the mess I was 48 hours ago - I only cried once today and got sad twice without crying. Tomorrow I am hoping that I don't cry at all and maybe only get sad once.Yes, what happened was horrible but I know I am a lucky girl and that one day I will have my baby.

Thats why I temp too otherwise I would never know when AF was coming. I do also do it to make sure if I was ov, otherwise Id feel stressed we werent bding at the right time. Mine are anything from 5-7 weeks. And like you - there were when I was a teenager. Wow pms from 4 weeks is not good!
Im starting to think maybe I have PCOS? Just without the symptoms of weight gain, extra hair, etc. Because it doesnt seem normal to me. I think Im going to wait a couple more months as were not actually ttc right now anyway and then see the doctor, or perhaps even before that. Although to be honest, from what Ive read it doesnt seem like there is much they can do.
Yep definitely, at 25 you still have a long time before you need to worry about hurrying up etc. I think its just ttc starts to make you think a little crazy and panic!0 -
The main reason I've been temping is so that I know when I ovulate - I've been on the implant for 2.5 years, had the pill for 2.5 years before that, a gap with nothing for three months then I was single, then six years on the pill before that. So I genuinely have no idea how long my cycles are!
I must also admit that the science behind temping fascinates me! We will be taking a relaxed approach to TTC, and I kinda feel like an interloper on the TTC thread - hope you don't mind me sticking around on here!Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -
Been without internet for a few days, which was v.annoying.
Have told DH that I have certain targets to reach before we can TTC and he has agreed. They are:
1. Have £5000 in savings
2. DH to have registered his business with the appropriate body and have started advertising for work.
3. To have de-cluttered the bedroom
4. To have repainted the bedroom
5. For me to lose 8lbs through healthier eating.
If we work hard they are achieveable by beginning of May, which would be when I would be approaching ov (if mc hasn't messed up my cycles), so fingers crossed! Became Mrs W in 2011:smileyhea Blessed with Baby boy 1 in 2013, Baby boy 2 in 2016 and Baby boy 3 in 2018 :smileyheaDebt @ 19/8/11 [STRIKE]£20,060 [/STRIKE] current £0Paid off 100% :dance:0
