Those who are waiting to TTC

Always lurking, me, Comp
it's like I have nothing better to do...
Welcome kscarlet  I'm not really supposed to be here though, I just keep an eye out from the ttc thread"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
Hey Peeps
I posted on this thread aaaages ago (for a whinge really - it's so hard to wait!!!). OH and I have had a big talk and think about the next few years and it looks like we will be trying next summer. I must confess it's longer than I would like to be waiting (I'll be 31). My implant expires in September, and I'd love to try then. But a chance for an internship in India has come up for me and I feel compelled to apply, as it will be my last chance for an adventure for a while! That will be just after I (hopefully) finish my PhD. I'm pretty sure it will take a while to get a job after, so that seems as good a time as any to start a family.
I know that TTC takes time, so we will just have to see what happens and what opportunities come up. I won't get any maternity help which is a shame, hopefully we can manage on DH wage, and I'll try to get some teaching part time. These are the best-laid plans but who knows what life may throw at us!!

Walby - I'm sorry to hear your news, hugs.
Newbies - Hi!
Those who are graduating - a very envious *woo* to you!
It's been an odd week here. Making the most of my 'most definitely on the pill' status to get a boozy weekend in - but jealous of the (increasing number) of friends who seem to be announcing their pregnancies!0 -
Evening all, i hope you don't mind me joining you...
We're living with MIL at the moment trying to save a deposit. I'm so frightened time is ticking away but we couldn't have a baby whilst living here, it just wouldn't work.0 -
 confused, how long do you think it will take to save a deposit? How old are you? Is there anything you could be doing to use this time for the good of ttc -ie come off hormonal birth control top let your hormones regulate and cycles return to normal, lose any excess weight, get to know your body and cycles and most fertile days etc? It might make you feel more in control too.
Also, don't forget to start folic acid (400mg/day) at least 3 months before ttc (where possible). It's very important for the healthy develop of your future baby's brain and spine/nervous system development"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -

hi big zippy! judging by our avatars we have much in common :rotfl:thanks for your reply xxx
i'm not sure, we should have it saved in 12-18 months, i'm 35. I can't come off the pill yet because i'm on migraine meds which cause abnormalities so i daren't just yet. I would need to come off the migraine meds when we were ready too.
I do need to lose weight and go to weightwatchers so i should concentrate on that. I'm already on folic acid because the migraine meds deplete the bodies folic acid.
how old are you big zippy? xx0 -
Hi all,
 Confused. Was just wondering if you have tried posting your SOA on DFW to see if they have any suggestions of how you could make some savings to get your deposit quicker?
Thanks for you replies on my previous post. I have a lot more PMA now, which is good! I think my main problem at the moment is hormonal mood swings. Yesterday, I woke up and felt in a good mood then at about 11:30am I just started crying. DH asked me what was wrong and I honestly didn't know, just felt very weepy and sad. I think the mc must have messed my hormones up a bit but hopefully when I have had my first proper AF after mc then they might sort themselves out again.
DH and I have decided to not put a date or targets on when to start TTC, just when we both feel ready. I have said preliminary Oct/Nov this year just because that gives us time to get our finances a bit more sorted. If we waited till then a worst-case-financial-scenario occurred of me falling pregnant straight away, we would at least be debt free by babys arrival. So in a nut shell we are trying anytime from Oct 2012. Cor, I am a bit long winded! Became Mrs W in 2011:smileyhea Blessed with Baby boy 1 in 2013, Baby boy 2 in 2016 and Baby boy 3 in 2018 :smileyheaDebt @ 19/8/11 [STRIKE]£20,060 [/STRIKE] current £0Paid off 100% :dance:0 -
thanks Walby, that's a good idea, thank you. Mr C is attempting to claim back some PPI so if we get that then things will move quicker too.
I'm sorry for your loss Walby, it's no wonder you're weepy. I hope your hormones settle soon xxxxxxx0 -
I can feel a bit like that around ov, walby, so maybe it's your hormones from the mc and from the cycle both attacking at once, iyswim?
Confused, I'm skirting around 30 :cool::o
( I'm really from the ttc/ttc 12month+ threads, but I like to keep an eye on you guys and help out where I can)

Hi Ladies!
COMP - I couldn't resist! And I was trying to avoid my parent's constant attempts to feed me! Do they think I need fattening up or something?! There's only so many times I can turn down offers of food in a 30 minute period without getting a bit snippy! Each time I also said 'I'm not hungry yet. We've just eaten. When I'm hungry, I will go into the kitchen and get something.'. Didn't make a bit of difference!
AF came during my UK visit. She was well annoying! lol Walking around London, to meet friends, when you're already feeling irritable isn't advisable. I wanted to batter half the people I came accross! I'd forgotten how much of a rush everyone in London is! Still, dinner with friends was lovely.
Nothing much doing here. AF is on her way out. She came back for round 2 yesterday afternoon with some cramps, and fresh blood, but then went back to spotting again almost as quickly. Random, and bizarre.
I picked up some knitting needles I need, so I am going to get on this evening and start the frog from the 'knit a frog' kit my MIL got me. She has one too, but is stuck on the feet and hoping I can help her. God knows why, I can only just about master basic knit stitch, and pearl! lol
I hope you're all well, and enjoying some sunshine at long last! ((HUGS)) to all who need them!
