Hope you're all well!

Glad you've got some clarity Euro!
If possible, I'd leave the discussion as to how you could raise a family here if he gets a promotion there for now. Don't want to push him too much!Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -
Ani - I think with the mirena you should still be ovulating so in theory can conceive as soon as it is taken out... as long as you take it out before ovulation.
I will know more tomorrow, as I have a hospital appointmentI'm trying to think of the questions to ask the consultant and so far have come up with:
What were the biopsy results and how do they compare to the previous ones?
Will I have to come back for further checkups?
If so, how often (please let it not be too often... 3 generals in 6 months knocked me out)?
Anything to look out for which would mean asking for an appointment?
What can I do to maximise the success of treatment?
What are the risks of having the mirena removed if I don't get on with it?
What's the alternative if I don't get on with the mirena?
What's the alternative if the mirena doesn't work?
Is there any information available (primary studies etc) that I can access as there is b****r all online?
What are the short/med/long term prognosis and options?
What is the potential impact on my fertility?
Do you reckon that will keep us occupied for the whole appointment :cool:0 -
I think the mirena is hormone based, much the same as the pill, so I *think* that your fertility will return to normal in pretty much the same way as it would if you were on the pill, and then stopped. And that seems to vary from woman to woman, and the advice varies from doctor to doctor. Some say you're fertile straightaway, and indeed some women do fall pregnant the first month after stopping the pill. And yet other docs say it can take up to a year, and indeed some women take a year or longer to fall pregnant. Unfortunately, there never seems to be a definitive answer to this question, as each persons body is different and reacts differently to the drugs.
You can have just a copper IUD. Essentially, it's like the Mirena but without the hormones. This is what I switched to in March. It seems to be effective, and my understanding is that my fertility returns to normal as soon as it is removed.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -

Well I got pregnant last time whilst still ON the pill! But will ask doc to be sure and may go on copper coil as you suggest. Don't like the idea of anything affecting my fertility once we do decide to GFI!0 -

hehe, we still haven't managed to narrow down exactly when I'm ovulating, so I've started temping, and got some opks and we're folloing the SMEP plan to maximise our chances of catching it! I think by the time we know i've OVd I'll be so fed up of DH I may have to send him in the spare room for a couple of nights!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160

Hello everyone. Please can I join in? Have finally 'persuaded' DH that another child would be a good idea so thought I would come and join you lovely people on here. Hoping to start trying in March but am trying to sell the house at the same time so I'm not making it easy for myself
. I already have an adorable 2.5 year old son who's in mid tantrum stage lol.

Ani - re the mirena, the consultant told me that if you are ovulating you can conceive immediately. If you aren't it may take a little time. I've been advised to track my cycle and keep texting for ovulation so I know whether or not I am.
So... We now have a deadline. I will have another hysteroscopy and biopsy in May, and if they're happy then we can start then. If I don't ovulate naturally within a short time, they'll give me clonus to trigger it. The second deadline is a bit more concerning... If I leave it for more than a year after that, then they don't think there is much chance, even with help. So OH, who is (as with others) the potential issue, now knows the situation.0 -
