I am going to be a broody wreck this weekend! My 5th neice was born this morning weighing 7lbs 2oz, at 2.18amBorn by emergency c-section after the placenta starting bleeding/coming away (bit hazy on the details here) during labour. But both Mum and baby Amelia are doing well.
Well, Mum is shattered, but also over the moon as she text to say she couldn't stop staring at her! Awwwwwwwwwwwwww.
So, I'm now an aunt of 7!! I'd better apply for that mortgage, I'll need it for the Christmas gifts! :rotfl::rotfl:February wins: Theatre tickets0 -

Agreed as well! I'm constantly amazed (and somewhat judgemental) about what other people do with their kids. I'll probably end up with nightmare children that can't be controlled in public:cool:

That means it's nearly real!Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -
Ooohhh - good one COMP!
I am hoping that our TTC date can come forward as OH's dad said this week that he is going to give his 3 kids some of their inheritance early, as he want's to see them enjoy it. OH then declared to his parents oh maybe we can have a baby sooner . . . . if this backfires and MIL starts stalking me I am going to go mad.
I wasn't best pleased that he decided to tell people that we were thinking about it, but I hope this means that he is serious about the idea . . . . MEN!!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:2022 Target - Reduce new mortgage balance after house move - Part 1 (Ported) Starting balance £39,982.12 currently £37,242.19 Part 2 Starting Balance £101,997.88 currently £96,197.38 (as at 19/04/2022)0 -

Last time kids were mentioned in front of MIL she didn't react very well. She asked if we'd like a new double bed for our spare room (or guest room as she's insisting on calling it). DH told her that it wouldn't be a spare room for very long as we intend to put a cot in it. The silence from her was awkward to say the least. As was the look of sheer confusion on her face.
My mum knows our timescale, as does one of my two best friends.Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -
Ok, may I just have a rant and be a horrible person for a minute or two please?
Look away if you don't want to read this.
I've just had 3 or 4 friends in a row announce their pregnancies on facebook. Now...it stings a little when anyone does it but one of them has just got me so angry at the world. She already has 4 kids. She's on benefits and had been boasting that she'd been to see a house she's getting and its huge. The father of her latest (5th) child is a guy that she gets into a "relationship" with for 2 weeks at a time, before they split up then a few weeks later they get back together again.
Am I getting this all wrong, getting married, buying a house, waiting until we can afford maternity leave or to buy a house that isn't a shoebox and until we're in the right place and worrying that it's not possible when other people are just popping them out with no way of financially supporting themselves?:(:(

(((hugs))) code monkey. It's hard when you see all your friends having babies when you want one so badly, and that kind of thing makes it worse. You might want to consider whether she is really a friend, someone you want in your life (and on FB) and who you would want your kids to grow up knowing.
I'm currently being treated for complex hyperplasia with atypia (don't google it, it'll depress you), which means I have an abnormally thick uterine lining with pre-cancerous cells. Because I haven't had children, they aren't going down the normal route of a hysterectomy. I've just had my third hysteroscopy (under general anaesthetic) in 6 months, and having had progesterone treatment as tablets (not nice) for 4 months, I've just had a mirena put in. I'm hoping last week's biopsies come back clear, but I know I'm going to have to wait for my consultant to agree that it's OK to go ahead and TTC (as well as OH), but that if we do make that choice, the hospital will give us the help and support we need. I do find it quite hard going to my appointments though - the pre-natal and neo-natal clinics are held at the same time0 -
I'm sorry to hear that greenbee. Makes my hyperprolactinaemia seem like a stroll in the park
:(:(:( I've always wondered why fertility type appointments take place at the same time as ante and pre-natal clinics. It seems unnecessarily cruel.
I've blocked her posts for now, pending a decision.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
I guess the consultants are the same... But given that they are so aware of the problems you'd think they and the nursing staff would harass the hospital to sort it out! At least the health problems can be addressed... I think getting OH to make his mind up will probably be harder to deal with than this year's health roller coaster. Ironically, i've clearly had the problem for some time, but if I hadn't been TTC I may not have caught it, so I have to be positive that it may well have saved my life.0
