COMP - how are you doing my dear?

Me - well, still waiting on the new family member. Sister is booked in for a sweep tomorrow if still no joy. I hope the little one arrives before my visit next weekend! Eek!

Also saw the doc yesterday and I have to have an op on both my wrists. Been avoiding it for the best part of 5 years, but there are no alternatives left now. Ho hum, at least things seem to move quickly here as my consultant appt is next Tuesday! So, that has kinda made me feel like 'OK, babies can wait until these ops are done and out of the way.' which has lifted the (self imposed) pressure in that area.

Soooo looking forward to my visits home too. Visiting family next weekend, and then friends in Bath the weekend after :D

    xx

I'm ok thank you! I'm turning into my friend's pregnancy advisor and am concentrating on getting healthier (and slimmer) rather than focussing on the negatives of not being able to TTC at the moment.

Doesn't help when even the WW leader decides to chip in and say that "as you've now lost 10% of your body weight you will see advantages such as reduced blood pressure, lower cholesterol and increased fertility". Which wouldn't have been so bad if my mum and SIL weren't sitting either side of me!

What's up with your wrists? Sorry if you've said before.....

Ah good. I think it's a good idea to focus on something else, and getting healthier and slimmer is definitely a plus (in so, so many ways). :D

Oh, bl00dy WW leader! It's unfortunate such comments always come at the wrong time!

My wrists - recurring ganglion cysts (I have small lumps on my wrists - but only when I flex them - lovingly referred to as the aliens in my wrists! lol). Nothing major, just quite painful for me most of the time, and sometimes very painful (I have episodes where they are worse - today is one of them :() and I can no longer put any pressure on them (ie, pushing myself up, carrying heavy stuff, practice my Qi Kwan Do punches etc). No idea why I have them (nor do the docs), and I have tried using support bandages to 'squeeze' them away, tried having them 'aspirated' (drained with a syringe) etc but they always come back. So doc said, only thing left is surgery and they won't disappear until that happens. Apparantly, something is irritating the tendons in my wrist, which then causes the cysts, so they will look for that also and remove it.

I just hope I can stay awake for the ops. I don't like general anasthetics.

my colleague has one of those ganglion cysts - popped up on his arm shortly after moving house, and has been there ever since. Luckily it doesn't hurt him, but he does get a lot of comments from people when they first notice it and think he's had an accident/been stung by a bee or sommat(it's the size of a squash ball!)

I'm also focussing on losing weight to distract me from probably putting our TTC date back a few months :(

If I keep going as I am I'll be out of "obese" by mid Jan (15lbto go :D) so if we don't start TTC until March/April then I should be able to get much closer to my "healthy" BMI range before getting pg :) (48lb to go though )

Littlemong... i am trying to lose weight too, good luck with that.
euronorris, Hope everything goes well with ur Op.
My OH says he does not only want to have 1 child, he wants 2. Alright, but when it comes to the time, he wants to use protection, so actually the last three months we have been talking about another baby, but not doing anything about it. i will Ov on sunday, and i feel i will just have to wait, i dont want to feel like i am tricking him, he says if we found out we are pregnant he will be over the moon but actually the "planning" to have one, he can not cope with. He said he wants to stop using contraception, well, then dont change your mind, silly man ! We are fine now, i was upset early this week with him because he does not know what he wants.

Why doesn't he want to plan one? Have you suggested the not trying, not preventing (NTNP) method to him. It's more of a 'what will be, will be' approach, which he may be more comfortable with.

I er.....may er....have bought a few items from the Versace for H&M range today........hehehehe. Bad Euro! BAD!

  • This week / weekend hasn't been best for the broody levels. Spent so much time with my six month old niece and she's soooooo lovely!

Mixed week from me. On the one hand I was in the supermarket and saw the baby clothes and nearly burst into tears. That's how broody I am. My AF came and I was so sad, because although we've not actually been trying, there's always the hope of a miracle. And then the blood comes along to spoil the party.

On the other hand, a colleague of ours brought her baby to visit us. Now, I'm now overly keen on the whole baby in the office scenario. I think it's inapprorpriate in the workplace and insensitive and a bit cruel to anyone struggling with their fertility but I appreciate a lot of people like to do this. But it wasn't in the office. It was in the pub. She brought her baby to the pub! On a Friday night! Where everyone was doing jaeger bombs! Am I wrong in thinking this was just...wrong?

Thanks comp. I kind of expressed disbelief that she'd bring a baby to the pub (not to her obviously) but the person I was talking to seemed to think it was ok cause it was a wetherspoons. Still think there's a difference between bringing a child out for a family meal in the pub, and taking a baby along to a leaving do where everyone is drunk and doing shots.

I wish OH would make his mind up. I get the impression he'd be happy if it happened but when I ask he says he's not ready.
