We've decided to bring it forward a little to give my body a bit of time to adjust. We're going to do NTNP for a little while and see how we go. Importantly, DH doesn't want to know when I've had the implant taken out. He knows I've got three days booked off in December, but I haven't arranged the taking out date yet. Going to buy some folic acid today and start on that. Other than DH (and possibly my best friend) you ladies are the only ones who'll know. I don't think I want to tell my mum just yet - I'll leave her thinking we're starting from March.
Eek!Thanks for the replies. You've all been very helpful, I didn't know you could get maternity pay from government - I assume this would be from NI over the years!
Bigzippy - excuse my ignorance but what is ntnp?
Like emsbet said, NTNP its not trying not preventing. Couples often find it to be a more stress free "testing the waters" sort of approach, feeling their decision was validated if there was a "meant to be" quick pregnancy, whilst not too stressed or downhearted if you were waiting a little longer. Also, if you want to join the TTC thread, I'm sure you'll be most welcome
 to the others. Hope this cycle is a more respectable length littlemoog"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -

Thanks ladies. We definitely won't be trying very hard initially as I had a job interview this morning that I *think* went well so I wouldn't want to be starting a new job and get pregnant straight away. We'll see how it goes...... Mind you, if I do get it, there should be a nice pay rise to go with it - I've told the recruitment agent that I'm on more than I actually am and that I'd like more money to move. If I get what I've asked for, it'd be a 23% payrise with the possibility of car allowance on top of that!Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0

Congrats COMP on bringing the date forward and fingers crossed for the job - the payrise sounds fab! Very exciting all round for you!
Could you put me down for November 11? I have come off pill and am currently waiting for my first "real" AF so we can start NTNP. My breasts are quite tender so I am hoping that means AF isn't far off (its CD 36 now!).
Anyone else starting to panic about it all? I am really excited but keep thinking "if we waited another 6 months/ 1 year/ 3years/ 5years.....". Keep trying to tell myself I will always be scared no matter what so just go for it. Became Mrs W in 2011:smileyhea Blessed with Baby boy 1 in 2013, Baby boy 2 in 2016 and Baby boy 3 in 2018 :smileyheaDebt @ 19/8/11 [STRIKE]£20,060 [/STRIKE] current £0Paid off 100% :dance:0 -
Ooohhh that job sounds great COMP! Fingers crossed for you!
Congrats to walby too, you'll be starting the NTNP very soon!Out of interest, as you're on CD36, have you ruled out pregnancy yet? Could be a possibility!
I seem to be having a cycle with no sore boobs at all! GET IN! If only every month was the same!
Another friend has given birth today, to a baby boy weighing 8lbs!
Bless, my colleague (who is about 4.5 months) is all hormonal and weepy today. She has a headache too, which isn't helping her.
((HUGS)) for everyone! xxxxxxFebruary wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Fingers crossed on the job front COMP, that would be a lovely boost in salary
Exciting news for you too Walby! Fingers crossed the NTNP works for you :j
I'm very excited about TTC next year, but we had dinner with my best uni friend on Monday who's been TTC for 3 years with no luck. her OH has rubbish sperm due to mumps as a child, and they're waiting to find out whether they're even good enough for IVFThey'll probably go down the adoption route if not, she says she can't imagine not ever being a parent. I feel so choked up about it, she was saying how hard it's been seeing lots of our friends having babies in the last 2 years and how everyone at work is joking about her being next etc. Life is so unfair, they'd be such amazing parents. Even though I know she'll be pleased for us if I get pg, I know it's going to hurt her as well which makes me so sad.

COMP: YAY!! At least you came to some form of agreement which is fab! Your hubby sounds as petrified as mine was. But there was no getting away from it happening and now really is the best time for us. Good luck! x0

Euronorris, I hope I'm not pregnant just yet! I am a teacher and so if I get pregnant around end of Nov/beginning of Dec then I would be due around beginning of Sept which would be fab in terms of mat leave. I know I am unlikely to fall straight away but figured just in case I would be better waiting till November. As for being CD36, I have no idea if that means anything - I know thats a long cycle but I have been on the pill for 10 years  with only one month break (about 4 years ago) in that time so I have no idea what might be "normal" for me. I have said to DH will wait until next weekend (5th Nov) - if there is still no sign of AF then will do a test. If I am that would be fab and I would still be as happy as a pig in s***! Became Mrs W in 2011:smileyhea Blessed with Baby boy 1 in 2013, Baby boy 2 in 2016 and Baby boy 3 in 2018 :smileyheaDebt @ 19/8/11 [STRIKE]£20,060 [/STRIKE] current £0Paid off 100% :dance:0
