  • No news from me either really. We are inching closer towards getting a date for OH's op but nothing set in stone. Such a frustrating wait, it's been a year now and in that time we've gone from being 'happy to see how things go' to wanting to get married and have babies NOW NOW NOW. Maybe it's one of those things where when you can't do it, you want it all the more :o

    Good Morning Ladies,

((HUGS)) and biscuits and all things nice for us all.

OK, OH's appraisal went well until the subject of the local contract came up and his boss said they wouldn't be able to match his current salary. To which OH went mental (as it's constructive dismissal essentially), and then his manager went mental in return and then they argued about it for a few hours until lunch. They are using all the same excuses as before, and telling him that he shouldn't take it personally (why not? It's his job, and you're basically saying that you don't think he's worth the money!), to which he responded and showed all their arguments to be flawed and said well, that's it then I'd better start looking for another job. They say they don't want that, and were then trying to calm him down, but he's very adamant 'match my salary or I'm off'. They then tell him that he wouldn't get paid as much elsewhere, to which he replied 'maybe not, but I wouldn't have to put up so much cr*p either. Oh, btw, still haven't had any payslips this year! I'm pretty sure another company would be able to manage that quite easily'.

Basically, we think it comes down to how much his manager and the HR manager earn. To match his current salary, his gross wouldn't be too far off his manager's wage and would slightly exceed the HR manager's. So, we think it's about their ego's more than anything else.

I don't know. He's gone into work this morning, and will be talking about it again today. Fingers crossed a decision is made either way, at least then he can start to move forward one way or the other.

Me, I'm working from home today, waiting for my new laptop to be delivered! :D

Thanks hun. They are! We polished off the little bit of Sherry we had left on Friday night (didn't have anything else alcoholic in the house! lol), and he seemed to calm down then and has been happier over the weekend than I expected, so that's good.

    How are you?

A bit of alcohol always helps ;) Hopefully they will realise how valuable your OH is find some compromise. You never know, if he starts looking round he may find his dream job :D

I'm ok. Been struggling a bit this weekend and alternating between been sad and been angry that I no longer have my baby :( but I'm feeling a bit better today so hopefully it will be an easier day.

Sorry to hear your OH's work are being such twonks. I really hope that they either see sense or that a fantastic other opportunity falls into place for your OH and he gets to tell them to stick their job....

Emsbets - so sorry xx I truly hope that today will be a bit easier for you.

I'm planning my next couple of days - have a raft of meetings to get through tomorrow morning then I have a day and a half off to get some uni assignments done. My OH is off to South Sudan for a couple of days so I'm quite pleased I have plenty to keep me busy. Have also grabbed a couple of daft girly films to indulge in (along with some pink wine and yummy food no doubt!).

Having awful cramps this month. Being female sucks.

Sounds like my kind of crazy :D:p

I'm alright I guess. Trying to be more laid back about ttc this cycle, no idea if I have, or will, ov...trying to bd every couple of days and see what happens. Pretending to myself that I'm still trying to lose weight, when really I'm doing just enough to keep it stable :o bought some size 16 stuff recently tho :j I think we've decided to get referred back to gynae for fertility help in december, if we've got no where by then. Ideally I want to lose some more lbs by then, but I'm not stressing myself out about it tbh.

I can well imagine how frustrating and disheartening it is/can be for you

Size 16 stuff eh. Check you out. You’re going to be Miss Skinny in no time :).

I’m pleased you’ve come to a conclusion about your next steps. It must be both quite exciting but also nerve racking to think about getting fertility help. I’m quite excited for you though :D.

I actually think he'd be better off in another job as they'd likely treat him a lot better, and he wouldn't have to continually push for mandatory things to be done!

Ahh, honey ((HUGS)). It's a process, and it will take time. Just let yourself feel what you feel. Don't let anyone else let you feel like there is a time limit to it.

I hope the sun is shining for you at least. If not, chocolate is the answer! ;)

I was on the pill for 10 years and got caught first month with my fist baby, currenlty pregnant with my second - I though it would take ages with both but first month with first baby and this one, well i came off pill after having my gallbladder removed in april and was out of action for 2 months, and am now 17 weeks pregnant so that was either first or second month again.

Flutterby_lil - I'm kinda hoping that'll be me! We're financially stable and in a decent house etc so if it did happen it'd be no hardship - probably just a bit quicker than expected and I'd therefore have to manage OH expectations! We do need to get a move on - I had another reminder of that this weekend, someone asked how old the OH was and we both realised (although obv we did really know) that he's going to be 35 which sounds scary - only 5 years till 40!!

The last few months on the pill I've had sligtly odd AF - very dark at first and weird timings. Went to see the doctor and he just put me on another pill and seemed to think nothing was wrong. I'm really hoping nothing is wrong and there's only 1 way to find that out!

Euro - good luck with the job front.

Thanks. It can only go one of two ways: good or bad, so just waiting for OH to come home. I'll know simply from the mood he is in (like Friday). Fingers crossed for positive news.

When I was on the pill, I found my periods got lighter and shorter over time. In the end, it just became quite (sorry for TMI) brownish and more like heavy spotting. But, AF has returned to what I consider more normal (ie red and full flow) since I came off though. So you may be fine like me, but as you said, there's only one way to find out.

I hope they return to normal, in the nicest possible way. AF is never enjoyable!
