Those who are waiting to TTC

Hello people
Ditzie - I don't know if there's ever a right time. Are your work situations likely to change?
I'm on the last week of the pill before I've negotiated coming off it with OH - I'm weirdly excited. Although he'll go mental if I got pg within 3 months as he wants baby to be the oldest in the class at school not the youngest! I'm of the opinion that I've been on the pill for 10 + yrs so it'll be a good idea to get my body back to nature. I don't reckon it'll happen that quick but if it does I get a cute baby and OH will just have to cope! (I don't make that comment lightly btw - we're both into our 30's now so need to really get a rattle on, can't wait for perfect school age at our age ;-)
Woo - hoo - last few days on this thread!!
I have been at this job since Jan 11 so dont think i will be moving on too quick...there is arumour he could get a really good FT job soon so if that happens i guess his probation date will be the TTC date?
I know what your OH means... im one of the oldest and OH is one of the youngest - we both think Oct/Nov is a good time for a birthday!
I know it sounds silly but i do care what the parents think... my dad still thinks im his baby despitethe following;
*Met each other: Us - 15 Them - 20
*Started Dating: Us- 17 Them -20
*Moved in together: Us-19 Them - 21
*TTC: Us-Waiting Them-21
*Had baby: Us-N/A them:23
so we have waited longer etc than them but dad still thinks im a baby but insists it was right for them and its not a regret thing. (im an only if that helps):jBaby Boy born December 20120 -

sounds like you are very similar situation to me - early 30s, ten years on pill and just about to come off it! Although I'm wondering if we should use condoms for the first little while til my body gets settled into a routine...
feel really nervous about going back to 'real' periods after so long having predictable easy time with them!
good luck zcrat41 and perhaps i'll see you on the TTC board soon!fran-o0 -
Morning All,
Does anyone have any good advice on when to come off the pill? We want to TTC next Sept (yes I know it is a while!!) but I want my body to be back to normal then if possible. How long should you be off your pill for ideally?
Thanks0 -
Unfortunately there is no right answer to that question. Some peoples bodies go 'back to normal' straight away, others take a few months. Personally, I would ask myself if I would be happy (or if we could cope financially) if I fell pregnant a little earlier than September. If the answer is yes, I'd come off the pill in June to give my body three months to 'recover' before the September.Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0

Yea I would go with the 3 months consensus but realistically it could be longer. I have been off 18months and little subtle things in my cycle are still changing. Although the main thing about being regular settled for me after around 6 months. But mine was delayed. 1st 3 months it was same regularity as the pill then the next 3 it was awol and then after that it settled down but other things changed.0

Hi Fran 0 - it's exciting isn't it!! Especially as I've persuaded OH to go and view a bigger house this afternoon because it would be perfect for a family!!
I've been taking folic acid for about 2 months now and I'm kind of presuming I won't get pg in the first month. If nothing else both OH and I are really busy at work so there won't be much BD going on for a wee while!0 -
Ladies, I am trying very hard not to get my hopes up today.
OH has his annual appraisal today, and was under the impression that he would get a proper response about his job situation here (one way or the other). Now I keep hoping, and wishing, that they make him an offer of a local contract (seeing as they were re-confirming his current net and gross salary yesterday). But I know I shouldn't, because it's far more likely nothing will happen and it will continue to drag on.
Think I'm ov'ing late also, as no sore boobs yet but have EWCM again. In for a longer cycle this month I think.

Fingers crossed that he gets an answer soon Euro, I know they've been messing him about for ages. It's so frustrating to have to put plans on hold. I spent 2 years as a contractor before I got my current permanent job here, and I found it really unsettling as it was hard to make plans for the future when you're only on a weeks notice  Plus I knew that I wouldn't have a position to go back to if I took ML, so would never have been able to afford a baby then even if we'd scraped by on SMP.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160
