wow COMP, you're going great guns on the weightloss, nearly a stone! keep it up :D

I on the other hand, am not! started well, but when I weighed myself after we got back from hols (and after AF started) I'd put on about 7lb  I know that can't possibly be right, we were only away for 5 days, and I really didn't overeat that much. I'm hoping it's a LOT of water retention, as my tummy does feel weirdly large and my rings are really tight, but I never had this on the pill, so it's new to me. AF nearly over now, on CD6, so hoping it will settle down and next week will show some progress :o

    Ta :o

I'm hoping to get to a stone by next week and then another stone by christmas. I want to lose the weight *before* having a baby so that it won't be really hard after. Wishful thinking, probably! I'm pleased that I lost this week too as I'm 'hormonal' at the moment. Which reminds me - I forgot to bring a curly wurly in to work for my chocolate fix :(

So DH says I am becoming baby-obsessed.... I think he might be right though.... Went into Mothercare at the weekend and brought baby bits (just some scratch mitts and hats) :o. He said I can buy as much as I want when I am pregnant but as I am not he thinks it is going a bit too far :(. I can see what his saying but like I said to him, "imagine how exciting it would be to know that something you have always wanted will be happening soon, because that's how I feel about having a baby".

Anyone else "baby-obsessed" or am I the only mad one?

You're not the only one. I feel the same way as you.

But, I do stay away from the baby stuff as it only ends up upsetting me and reminding of what I don't yet have. :(

Nice to see I'm on the graduates list, can I be a lurker too?! I'm posting on the TTC thread now (we've 'officially' been trying since Saturday! :)) but nowhere near the stage where the others are, no idea about temping and charting and weeing into cups! I haven't even had my first AF since coming off the pill so can't even say where I am in my cycle! :o

Our honeymoon was in Orlando so I was going baby mad over there, surrounded by so many cuties! I had to stay well away from the baby section in the big Disney store, OH told me I wasn't allowed to look because I'd want to buy everything! :( We did buy our soon-to-be(-hopefully-)-LO it's first book though, a special edition Tangled book! :D

  • I'd seen you posting on the 'grown up' thread... I'm hoping I won't get to the temping / peeing in a cup stage. It makes it a little... I don't know - clinical? I'm sure I'll probably feel different this time next year!

TBH I don't want to get to that stage either, hope it happens without too much stress as I don't handle it too well, and if it gets too clinical it'll never happen as OH finds all of that stuff a massive turn-off so we'd never DTD! ;)

  • With OH he doesn't want to know anything. He has said that he is happy for my implant to come out 'next year sometime - whenever you want' as it's my body. He doesn't want to know when it's out and doesn't want to know that we're trying. He really confuses me!

Had an odd conversation with my mum on Sunday:

Mum: Why haven't you had a baby yet?
Me: I still have my implant in
    Mum: Take it out
    Me: It's not that simple
Mum: Yes it is - what's stopping you?
Me: Money for a start. If I take maternity leave, we can't afford the mortgage on J's salary
    Mum: There's always a way
Me: If I take maternity leave, we can't afford the mortgage on J's salary - we need to save first
Mum: You know J wants a baby, don't you?
Me: Yes. We have spoken about it.
Mum: If it's money we can help out
Me: It would be several months worth of mortgage payments
    Mum: Yeah. And?
Me: We can't ask you to pay our mortgage AND provide childcare when I go back to work
    Mum: Take a mortgage holiday
Me: We can't our loan to value is too high.
Mum: Well I'm sure you'll sort something. Don't leave it too long. Because J wants a baby.

    Bullied much?????

LOL, my Mum just came out with 'I'm ready to be a grandma now...' and every time she sees me, first thing she does is look at my belly to see if it's growing! Whenever we've muttered about money both sets of parents jump in to offer help, think they're all so desperate for a baby in the family they'll do anything! Mum's already decided which day of the week she's babysitting and what pram she wants... crazy old not-yet-a-granny or what?! ;)

  • My mum already is a grandma! I'd understand it more if she wasn't (where's the confused smiley when you need / want it?)

I wouldn't be surprised if I receive folic acid and baby stuff for christmas.

On the financial side of things, I'm considering getting a christmas temp job to get a little extra cash to chuck into savings.

Crikey! What was all that about? Do you think that your Mum asked your hubby these questions and he tried to put her off (so to speak) by saying that you don't want to yet?

I can't imagine so... Anyway - she knows that I really want kids, so wouldn't believe him if he said I don't want to yet. I'd have stolen my niece already if I thought I could get away with it. And my nephew :rotfl:
